Sergio Martinez vs Carlos Quintana

In the words of max kellerman "Sergio Martinez is a SUPER Carlos Quintana."

 

Sergio... not even close.

 

be a good fight...but i think quintana has no business at 154 while martinez looked good at 160 !!

i think a late stoppage for martinez in a fun fight

id love to see a fight like this on a big fight undercard

 

yes a very interesting fight because they fight the same and use alot of upper body movement...i think martinez would come out with the win

 

That would be like when you pick the same two fighters in a video game and one of them is wearing an alternate costume.

Except the one with the alternate costume has 100000x the stats.

I'd take Martinez.

But Quintana did look superb last time out.

 

As a big Quintana fan, this fight scares the crap out of me.

 

I do not see all these so called "similarities" between Quintana and Martinez. Both are southpaws and both are pretty slick. They have little else in common. Qunitana keeps his hands up, has very good basic fundamentals, fights well out of a crouch, has decent defense, et. Martnez is very unorthodox, lacks fundamentals, holds a low guard, has poor defense, and relies heavily on speed and athletecism. Sergio and Carlos have radically different styles.

Quinatana would have a very good chance of winning a decision in this one. However, I do not think Carlos really belongs at 154.

 

Martinez has very good fundamentals, I've seen him use them against weaker opposition. He gets VERY basic against weaker fighters.
