Santos fight's like once a year @ the most... and has kept that pretty consistent over the last couple years. Martinez would prob outwork him, Would be my first guess.
If he really wanted to he would have been ready by Feb 14th of this year. But he cancelled a month early saying that he wasn't ready. I just found that funny. He was talking about only having last minutes warning..... but he still had enough time to think about it and then ultimately cancel it a month before the fight would even have occurred. Also, why wasn't it just scheduled in place of his fight with Yuri? He certainly would have had enough time by now. And Sergio still has no opponent to fight.... he's hoping on Pavlik/Williams to fall through. Sergio is quoted as saying that he'd be ready for a fight in October with Williams.
saying he wasn't ready probably means that he wouldn't have been able to make the weight. Simple as that.
Then why not fight him instead of Yuri Foreman? Martinez is still waiting for an opponent. Which should be clear enough by the fact that he's politicking to get in there with Williams.
