Sergio didn't impress at all tonight.

 

Seems that the 'back him up without throwing much' plan was working well until he decided he could really punish Martinez. Too bad for him.

Depends on how you rated him before the fight. Hagler fantasy fights? Pac and Floyd level? Come ON. But he's a great fighter in any case.

 

Even when your guard is up, some of the impact of the punches comes through. And it accumulates over several rounds

 

Credits to Barker though, There's your blueprint guys. With this fight Floyd UD's Martinez imo.

 

For everyone wondering why Sergio is scared of Pirog, this fight proved why, any boxer will Sergio problems, a slick boxer with power like Pirog would embarass and ko Sergio.

 

Watch the slo-mo again. That was an illegal shot behind the head.

 

Martinez looked very beatable.

When he has his hands at his waist and is eating clean jabs...it looks stupid. He would get murdered against a fighter that exploits that. Barker couldn't consistently do it, but he showed that it's there for someone who can.

 

Larry needs to step back so we can see more of that tall, blonde ring-card girl.

I expected a post like that. I don't know about a joke but he went down a few notches tonight. He won't go to 168 for a reason. A lot of fighters there would give him serious problems.
