Yeah there where but thats the only time I believe it was down on the dotted line. Both men have had rather abortive careers when you consider that they're both pretty much past prime and have given the best two champs in the division something to really think about.

Too bad they both couldn't quite get the steam to do this 3 years ago.

If Martinez is willing to go down to 150 then surely he's willing to go up to 170? A 20lb weight range is completely normal...

WTF are some of you on?

Most MW are bigger than Sergio, but he is the MW champ, either drop the title and move back to 154 or stop whining about the size differential.

I agree with you on the Pac and Floyd ****? If he won't fight B-Hop then he shouldn't be calling out Floyd.

Pirog is waiting but Sergio is ****ing *****.

Honestly, I've always felt Maravilla was full of **** about no longer being able to make 154. He could easily be doing it now, and IMO he's a perfect-fit natural light middleweight (too big for welter, too small for middle).

I'd have rather he'd stayed there and picked up some belts after "arriving" on the scene back in 2009, and brought some life to that currently very dead division rather than inserting himself into and further obfuscating the middleweight mix.

Martinez is overrated just as I thought.

Pacquiao and Floyd would kill him.

 He only moved up to 160 because he spent practically all of 2009 calling out every single guy at 154 to no avail. I've also never heard him say he can't make 154, only that he was only willing to do so for the big fights (which is a perfectly justifiable stance since 160 is the one place he has belts at the moment).

Lou Dibella will probably give Martinez a confidence-building fight next. Someone, martinez could easily blast away. everyone is entitled to an easy fight after going through a string of elite-level challenges like Dzinziruk and Barker

154 is an "interesting" division IMO. Alvarez, Cotto, Angulo, Trout, Bundrage, Kirkland, Ishida, Molina, Lara, Konecny....some fantastic fights to be made there...IF they ****ing get made

You can see from Martinez' interviews that he is full of **** like his promoter Lou

Martinez: "Pacquiao is fighting no-hopers like Cotto and Margarito".... "BTW i hope Margarito beats Cotto because Margarito will fight me, Cotto has been ducking my challenge for a long time" :patsch

Martinez: "I won't fight BHOP because the weight difference is too much for me"...."I want to fight Pac or Floyd to prove my greatness" :rofl :patsch

Martinez: "Floyd is P4P number one, I'm P4P number 2" :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl tell that to Barker dumbass :patsch:patsch

Martinez weighed 1lb more than Ortiz did vs Mayweather.

While Hopkins was 186 in his last fight...

He'd have a 15lb weight advantage over Floyd. And Hopkins would have a 21lb advantage.

Draining down to 170 would be health-risky for BHOP. Should Martinez turn down the challenge?
