Who do you think Martinez has faced that even slightly resembles a prime Tito, Vargas, or Winky.... These guys were the creme de le creme.....

I don't think he's faced anybody like Tito, but that's not the question.

Ok then... In my eyes Tito would have to be the favorite, he is proven against hall of fame fighters...... I mean these guys were fighting the best at their weight and in reality they could have faced anyone of the last 20 years at the weight and still won on any given night..

look man he was dropped by Williams in round 1...... Tito knows how to finish and Martinez is very open...

Martinez's hands show open, but he utilizes footwork abundantly, which is key in beating Trinidad. Being a proven fighter does jack **** for you once you're in the ring. The past has already happened, while the present is happening, and the future is always unknown. That's why they fight the fights. Think more in terms of style rather than resume. Trinidad's career is over, so of course he's more proven. Martinez has more to prove. yet.

Bhop shows great footwork every time out.. So yes... Winky shows excellent defense... The common factor on the two, we'll even count Hoyas victory, it's all based on defense..... Without excellent defense they all lose, well maybe not.... But I think you get my point...

As good offensively as Martinez is, he always will be able to be hit, Tito is and will always be considered an offensive machine... He is too open for the war and I've never seen anything from him that tells me he isn't open for the shootout...

I don't think it would be a shootout at all. You have a misconception about Martinez. He IS a defensive fighter, who mixes offense and defense brilliantly. Rather than a shootout, the fight would resemble Trinidad chasing Martinez around the ring, all the while getting countered and outclassed, and most likely, hurt. And if Martinez wasn't countering at any given time, he'd be beating Trinidad to the punch.

I think that you have mistaken Martinez fighting ability to take a punch with that of a defensive genius.... The man has whiskers.....

I for one and maybe only one think that Oscar put on a complete boxing exhibition over Tito, and I mean one of the best we have ever seen for the first 8 rounds.... Hopkins completely outsized and muscled him...

Martinez and Tito would be equal size, both great jabs... Tito cuts off the ring , Martinez moves in circles....Its gonna end up in a shootout these guys are equal...

Trinidad doesn't deal with lateral movement well and Sergio has a solid chin so I doubt Tito is going to pull what he did against Vargas and Reid and have his power save him. Martinez by UD.

At some point, Martinez will be caught, hurt, and stopped. It will probably happen in the mid-rounds when Sergio often needs a breather. Trinidad will almost certainly be behind on points when this happens.

Martinez by decision. I'm not sure if Trinidad could stop Martinez, I think he has a decent pair of whiskers. Plus Martinez is an intelligent boxer with good ring IQ. Its hard not to pick Martinez IMO.

Martinez has the style to expose flaws in Trinidad's game, but that could be said about a number of fighters that Trinidad fought.Trinidad had the conditioning, punching ability and determination that made him a threat throughout and a fighter who only grew stronger down the stretch of the fight.

The only man that completely shut down a prime Trinidad was Hopkins, and Martinez has never shown himself to be anywhere near the disciplined technician that Hopkins was.

At 154 Tito was a beast. You can't fight with your hands down against Trinidad unless you're special. I think Trinidad would get outboxed in spots, but would walk Martinez down and stop him late.

Trinidad was an over-rated swinging plodder.
