Monzon always had huge height and reach over most Middleweights, against Foster he would have been in the unusual position of being the smaller fighter with the shorter reach, given that advantage and his MUCH greater one punch power I agree it would have been an easy night for Foster

Hagler was also criticised for his unwillingness to move up and challenge Michael Spinks, BUT he was happy to fight Hearns, Duran and Mugabi who all came up from 154lbs to challenge him. Hagler stated that he was a Middleweight and that's where he was staying, if fighters wanted to move up and challenge him that was their choice, but it didn't mean he had to do similar

You also have to consider that Lightmiddle to Middle is a mere 6lbs not 15lbs like the jump from Middle to Lightheavy. Mind you he could have got Spinks come in at 168lbs and have the Supermiddle title on the line too Leonard v Lalonde style?
