Two superb tecnicians who both overcame an early career KO Hiccup to learn their lessons well, so well that neither could eventually be denied the Top middleweight spot, Sergio's feats are still recent in the memory, Hugo's Ability more shrouded in the mists of time, It might be worth reminding that Hugo beat Rodrigo Valdez twice, and even a blunted (Post Monzon & Briscoe Series) was still a tough nights work, Turning back the Challenge of undefeated Ronnie Harris was another feather in his cap, it took Vito Antefermo at his suffocating best and sticking to Hugo like Glue Edge the tile off Him, Subsequently, 1st time round, Marvin Hagler could attest to how tough and determined Vito could be, Over 15 rounds in them days, so no disgrace

OK so no wild bulls of the Pampas here, but two extremely Wily Foxes...

So who takes this ? do you have an Urge for Serg....Or do You Go for Hugo ??

I'm going to go against the grain at the outset here and **** everyone off by picking Hugo Corro to outbox Martinez over 15. Martinez is a as fast as Corro, but in an offensive sort of way whereas Corro is the more negative of the two and the better defensive boxer. There would be one virtual certainty here, and that's that the bout would go 15 rounds...maybe another virtual certainty is that the fans would be put to sleep....but that would be ok for Corro...nothing bothered him as long as he could fight his fight and smother the opposition with his cautious boxing. Martinez would start fast and build an early lead, but Corro would bide his time like he did in the first Valdez fight...saving his strength for the last three rounds...the deep waters of rounds 13 through 15, where he had more experience than Sergio. I believe that Corro would frustrate his fellow Argentine and win an excrutiatingly boring 15 round decision doing what he did best,...frustrating and out boxing his opponent.

Corro was wilier than ***y Sergio...more clever...and he didn't have the burden on him that he"must entertain" the fans. The fans be damned...he would turn in a negative performance that would have frustrated Martinez.
The winner of this fight would have to defend against the undefeated Sven Ottke....oh wait,...Little Red, are you out there????

No, it's all in the brain...the north east quadrant of my cortex gets this tingly sensation.
