Sergio hits more than hard enough to keep Chavez off him. Chavez has this undeserved notion of a granite chin. Why? Because he took John Duddy's best shots? Or Zbik's? He was hurt several times earlier in his career. Let him believe he has an unbreakable chin, it'll be all the more funny when Sergio cracks it!

Martinez is by no means tiny at the weight either, he's a very solid middle IMO. Granted he's not tall.

 

I fluctuate between thinking that Martinez is overrated (especially in regards to his power) and thinking that Chavez Jnr is way out of his depth with this one. I think its somewhere in between but closer to a Haye Chisora repeat than Martinez being overrated.

 

No way is Martinez power overrated. He hit Cintron so hard he tought it was a headbutt and went down for the full ten count, dropped williams in their first fight and ice'd him in the second, Busted Pavlik up worse than anyone else has to the point where he looked like a pizza face, Destroyed Dzinziruk dropping him like 5 times before knocking him out and he'd never been down before am or pro, and then he ko'd macklin and barker

I dont think he'll stop Chavez but he'll rock him enough times to make jr think twice about marching forward mindlessly like he allways does. And when that happens Chavez is totally ****ed

 

Chavez has this, he will lose the early rounds, but by round 7 Martinez will have little left.

Martinez by KO. I have no doubt that Chavez will his moments in the fight but he wont be able to stand up to Martinez punches. Also I feel the size of the ring will have a factor in this fight.

It's less snide about your pick, more the manner in which it will happen. Beating Andy Lee after getting outboxed is a different world to beating Martine.

 

I don't think much of Martinez nowadays. He has been VERY mediocre since the second Williams fight.

Edit: I thought the Dzinziruk fight came before the second Williams fight. My bad. In any case, he's looked extremely mediocre in his last 2 fights.
