You see this is the opinion of Martinez that I just don't see but a lot of people are saying it.

So basically we're talking about the Barker/Macklin fights:

He won the first couple of rounds, took a couple off (which he always does) then turns it up a gear or two and knocks out both former Euro champs/top 5 contenders.

Look at Martinez in the final three rounds of each fight (which is when it really matters) and honestly tell me he looked mediocre.

It seemed like because Macklin and Barker did better than expected, they were given rounds simply because of that. For me Martinez lost maybe 6/7 max over the two fights.

Mayweather lost more against Cotto. Chavez lost more against Zbik and Duddy!

If Macklin fought the fight he should have fought and that I expected him to fight, he'd have won! Macklin screwed himself.

Despite fighting entirely the wrong fight, he still came much closer to winning than anyone expected.

Macklin did that against Ruben ****ing Varon and look at the state of his face at the end! Martinez would have smashed him in under 6 if he'd fought that way :nono

 

My prediction: when the fight starts the Fat Rhyno will charge to Martinez. Maravilla will side step and hook him. The no-brakes beer drinker will slide through the ropes and fall on his legendary father knees, where he will start crying!!

Maybe he won't slide out of the ring on the first round... then he would quit on rounds 7-8
