Sergio Martinez vs. Matthew Macklin & Edwin Rodriguez vs. Donovan George RBR

Well said Magna. I haven't seen too much of Macklin before tonight, but he gave a good account of himself. How much of that was due to Sergio going through the motions the first half of the fight I can't say- but he came off as a worthy contender. Sergio dominated once he got upset and finished it in style- that's never a bad thing in a title fight and shouldn't be written off.

Whoever wants Sergio's title is going to have to give everything they've got to rip it from him because he turns into something else once he really feels threatened. It's a running theme for him- he'll fight down to a lesser fighter's level before it gets to that point, and then it's like the light switch comes on and the other guy's completely dominated.

I had Mack winning 1, 4, 5, and 7. 4 and 5 were close, so I could see people scoring them for Maravilla.

Bu, no matter what, Martinez should have been leading, quite comfortably, on the card by the time the fight was stopped.

Julie Lederman's scorecard... wow. It wasn't that close. Sergio was just wearing this dude out and took him out late like he wanted to...

At the end of the day, it's just another TKO for Martinez. Like he said -- he's still a young man, and he will be getting some good fights soon.

 

But wouldn't it be fun again to see Kirkland bouncing around the canvas.

 

All i know is, IB's RBR is gospel, and the fight is usually going the opposite of Bama's RBR. Cheers IB!
