ODLH was not his best version at 154, but neither was Martinez. I would say ODLH outboxes Martinez to a wide UD.

 

ODH by brutal KO, Martinez with his shaky chin would be playing with Fire, coming in with his hands constantly down.

Why do you think Martinez has a shaky chin? He's proved that he's a warrior against both Williams and Pavlik.

His speed, counterpunching ability, superior reach, and footwork would prove very difficult for Oscar to overcome.

If Oscar goes on the offensive, and tries to pressure Martinez, he would get stopped.

His straight up and down style would be tailor made for Martinez who has the speed, reach, and body punching ability to take him apart.

If Oscar uses his legs and keeps outside, the fight is more competitive, but at 154, Oscar wasn't the same guy he was at lighter weights.

He still loses.

Maybe it's you that doesn't know **** about boxing.

Keep in mind, Martinez can make 154 tomorrow if he had the right opponent.

With that said, you could easily consider 154 Martinez' prime weight.

 

At 154 and 147 ODLH. At 160 I give the edge to Martinez as Oscar was not effective at MW, but no way can Oscar be KO'd. It will just be a close UD.

 

Oscar got stopped twice in his career. Of course he can be koed. He's a man, isn't he?

 

DLH and easy, Hell Martinez isn't even beating Chavez Jr on his upcoming fight. :deal

He got stopped by a living legend in Hopkins at 160, and towards the end of his career, and the other was against Pacquiao... Anyone who uses that fight to measure Oscar's ability, DKSAB.

 

Oscar got stop by a big MW in Hopkins and against the number 1 p4p fighter in Pacquiao when he was wayyyyy past his prime. On the other hand, Martinez got KTFO by Margarito ffs. :rofl

 

I don't recall Hopkins scoring the emphatic one punch KO's that Martinez does.

Hopkins is an incredible fighter, and extremely crafty, but he's not as gifted as Martinez in regards to his punching power.

Martinez being shorter, but with such a long reach will actually play in his favor more than if he were taller like B'Hop.

He'll aim those punches up, which will cut right through DLH's hands out and up guard, as well as his straight up and down style.

He'll pierce him with left hands to the body, and finish him with shots to the top, if Oscar chooses to be aggressive.

Oscar is likely too smart for this, and he'll use his legs to survive, and he will be more effectivel like this because it will force Martinez to go on the offensive.

Still, Martinez has displayed great patience and intellect when he comes foward, and the fight would be boring, but his speed, reach, and power would prove the difference.

Oscar doesn't have the size nor the style to beat Martinez.

 

A relentless pressure fighter that can take shots may prove to be Martinez weakness.

When I watched that fight, I didn't see the body attack that Martinez has developed recently.

We will find out if this style is his kryptonite when he fights JCC, but don't be surprised when JCC is the one laying on the canvas.

Martinez is not the same fighter as he was when he lost against Margarito.

Regardless, Oscar is nothing like Margarito. Many people think Oscar took a dive against BHop.

Do you think Oscar would be willing to absorb the punishment that Martinez is going to dish out in order to smother him and stop him?

That's not even Oscar's style.

 

Oscar would tee off Sergio's open face. Not even the great Whitaker could put an offense together enough to stop Oscar from attacking relentlessly.

Oscar pushes you with his great jab amd while he's pushing you hard he distracts you with the right and nails you with the lefthook.

I can't see anything that Martinez does, that would present major problems for Oscar.

Ruelas, Hernandez, Castillejo etc.. are all in Martinez league. Martinez looks good now because quite honestly, the talent pool today isn't that deep.

 

Not one of those guys you named fights anything like Martinez, except maybe slight similiarities with Whitaker.

Now, Pacquaio and Martinez, have similiarites, and we all know what happened there.

Yes, I know ODLH was past his prime, but Pacquaio would be hard fight for DLH at any point in his career. Prime or not.

And you're talking about Whitaker...come on man...

Whitaker was a lightweight with very little punching power. Yes, his defense was amazing, maybe the best of all time, and definitely better than Sergio's unquestionably, but Sergio can knock out mother ****in middleweights with one damn punch and can match Oscar with his speed.

I don't give a damn who Oscar fought and beat. None of those guys you mentioned is Sergio Martinez.

Do you honestly think Oscar is going to attack Martinez like he attacked Whitaker?

Maybe if he wants to get KTFO.
