All that dropping your hands by your side is gonna be his downfall against Oscar IMO...I think Oscar's jab is gonna be the determining factor...Everytime Martinez comes in with his hands down he's gonna eat a solid jab...Martinez will have his moments but I think Oscar will be too much for him.

 

DLH is a FAR superior fighter to Martinez.

Far, far, far....people get so blinded by anybody without a conventional defence, it's funny.

 

How is this close? Prime Oscar wins easy, probably stops him.

Did you not watch the the Vargas fight, ODH at 154 wasn't that competitive atsch did you not see how he blew Mayorga out the water, nobody does that to Mayorga, the same Mayorga that nearly Ko'ed Cotto til he got saved by the bell. His problems at 154 had everything to do with Mayweather, Sr not training him, and being in the ring vs PBF

The point is Martinez doesn't do **** that Oscar hasn't seen. The point is Martinez is a good boxer by todays standards but not a great fighter ever.

I have De La Hoya, his flurries would be too much for Martinez's hands down stance

 

He has seen it before, from Pacquaio. And Pacquaio beat the **** outta him.

Martinez is bigger, stronger, rangier.

 

Fighters like Oscar, Trinidad, Quartey, Vargas get no respect from the new fans... FFS what the hell has Martinez done to even be talked about on the same level as someone like Oscar?

So Martinez has a style that he uses where he leaves his chin FULLY exposed more foten than not, and he's supposed to fight a legend like Oscar who had one of the best jabs and hooks of the last 25 years, and I'm supposed to be persuaded that Martinez wins because he KO Paul Williams? WTF?

 

Oscar may not have been in his prime, but he used the same style he always uses.

And that STYLE is the type of STYLE that leads you to get the **** beat outta you by Martinez.

The dumbest thing Oscar can do is go right after Martinez because he's such an "easy" target with his hands down.

Martinez would LOVE that.

Oscar does not survive if he attacks Martinez like he attacked featherfisted Whitaker.

Martinez will BUTCHER him if he does that.

Oscar has to get on his wheels and basically run. He has to turn it into the most boring fight possible and be extremely conservative.

Only let combinations go when Martinez makes a mistake and gets reckless.

But the last time I saw Martinez, I saw a patient, stalking fighter that didn't seem to care if the fight got boring. He was going to win and take as little punishment as possible.

With that said, he has KO power in both hands.
