Martinez wins for a second time.

 

I can't wait for this fight. I'm not sure if it'll be as good as the first, but I think Martinez will pull out a close points win. I thought Martinez deserved the decision last time, but it was very close. I think Martinez will be better this time with a full training camp and the experience of the Pavlik fight (I'm not suggesting Pavlik and Williams are similar but it was another fight as a middleweight beating a top opponent) whereas PW has only has what was basically a no contest against Cintron since their first fight.

As for the catchweight, what's the point? They are both natural junior middleweights, the whole point of a catchweight is to give the naturally smaller fighter an advantage, but in this case it is merely an inconvenience (but not a big problem) for both of them.

 

I go for Williams because everyone will pick Martinez.

 

Does the catchweight mean its a non-title fight? It better....

Why do you think Williams is being such a ***** about this?
This is the lineal middle weight championship of the world here , no contender should have to be asked twice.

 

Because Williams has it in his head that he's a star, despite not being able to draw a cart with a donkey. He thinks he deserves top billing and, to be honest, I think even he recognises he got a little lucky against Sergio the first time.

 

I got a feeling Williams will win this one, I'm having a fiver on him by KO. I think he'll benefit more from the proper preparation than SM will, and we'll see more boxing from him this time. 11th round KO win for Williams.

 

Martinez will win

 

I had high hopes for Williams. With his freakish frame, wingspan, ability to weigh up, terrorise multi weight classes and the different facets he showed early on in his career. I thought we had Homicide Hank Jr. on our hand, lol.

Williams is a strange fighter right now. He's giving up all his attributes and seems to be on this mission to walk everyone down when he has the attributes to box backwards (check the Margarito fight) and make full use of his gifts by maximising his strengths. I think a lot of this mindset stems from him being frustrated with his handlers and the inability to get the fights he wanted at welter.

This kid had no business at middleweight and should've camped out at 147 to force things. I believe he was stirred away from mayweather...this kids career and earning potential was messed up by his advisors (same advisors as Floyd so you see the conflict of interest) when they had him jumping around weights with no identity.

I'll probabily go for Martinez in this fight. Williams stalking and walking, giving up his leverage and reach is not a good look against a slick southpaw who will counter him for fun. Williams is believing in that chin and activity too much. This simply won't work with a more polished class of fighter in Martinez who's oozing confidence right now and has muscle memory to boot. People picking Williams are missing the style matchup in this fight and are holding on too tightly to Paul verses someone who will make him look amateurish and win more clearly the second time out. Can you perform like Mayweather in not quite "May" weather?

Having said that i may change my pick next week, LOL!
