Sergio Martinez wants a 7 day cut of date for "Olympic Style Testing" for Chavez II

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by D4thincarnation, Sep 26, 2012.

  1. Sergio Martinez, says he is willing to rematch Chavez even in Texas where the testing is way bellow NSAC standards, if Chavez agrees to extra testing.

Sergio said he want the extra testing a month prior to the fight till up to a week of the fight and then after the fight.

Martinez wants a cut off, no organisation (USADA / VADA) blood test pro boxers a week before the fight, so why did Mayweather insist on it?

Will Chavez accept this deal, I suppose it depends how long of a ban he gets.

I really think Martinez should go after Floyd or Canelo, but in all likelihood neither of them will step up, so maybe money wise Chavez is the best option.

    Will Chavez accept this deal?

He should also demand a limit on the amount of weight Chavez can gain between weigh in and fight time.

Can't see Chavez agreeing to any of that, and I don't know why Sergio is open to the rematch anyway. Nothing left to prove against Chavez and there's better fights out there, namely Cotto.

Even with the win, Martinez can't demand ****. Chavez can just move up to 168 and fight Pavlik and others for the WBC strap when Ward gets stripped. What does Sergio have? Geale? Golovkin? Pirog?

Sergio is just running his mouth when they offer him 50/50 no drug test Sergio is going to take it . Sergio doesnt have another big pay day out there

  6. Money, if Floyd or Canelo won't fight him, Chavez is his biggest pay day.

  7. Chavez's team said they are going to stay at 160lbs

  8. Floyd and Canelo will net him a lot more, so will Cotto, but it looks like none of them are interested.

    shut up

  11. Golovkin, would be the dream fight for the division, but he or Geale or anyone else won't bring in the big bucks, and at pushing 40, Martinez is looking for big pay days now.

    you cant handle the truth?

  13. Doesn't the IBF have a rule like that? 5% weight gain from the weigh in?

Don't think it will make a difference.

The first fight was a good fight to watch with an exciting finish, but it make the 2nd fight very predictable.

    ^^
My thoughts exactly, what has he to gain by fighting Chavez again, he should be looking for the likes of Cotto and Mayweather.
