Sergio Martinez wants WBC Diamond belt for Mayweather Fight

    I wouldn't be so sure about him paying up for a diamond belt, I think Floyd is on board for the middleweight title, not some belt that might be scrapped in a half hour after the fight is done.

    Are we talking about the WBC World Middleweight title or the "Diamond belt?" I'm sure that Mayweather would pony up for the actual MW title. On the other hand, the Diamond Belt is a scam to collect sanction fees. It doesn't need to be devalued because it's a farce. I hope that no else ever volunteers to pay for that **** so that the WBC will drop it.

    Ha, no I mean an actual WBC belt, not the diamond. Guy I was responding to clearly had a gripe with Floyd turning down the legit WBA WW belt.

    I'm about to google and see if i can actually find what the hell they want the Diamond Belt to mean.The scene said that it's categorized as a one time fee sort of prize for fighting in a super duper important fight.No longer about catch weights.It's just a prize belt that I don't think you really defend.

    Okay.Soo I was right.Someone from news about fights actually e-mailed ol Jose and asked him what it means.

    My dear friend Mr. ******:
    You have pointed out exactly what the DIAMOND WBC BELT is. It is a historical recognition to the greatest boxers in the ring of today and the future…….. They have to be elite boxers and whoever wins it, keeps it forever.
    We do believe that promoters are free to decide what their promoted fights are for, but the organizations are also free to award recognition to their boxing heroes.

    It has more gems and crystals on it than a regular WBC belt.It's like painting a racing stripe on your car and making it go faster.

    If it takes a diamond belt to make the fight happen,I might change my opinion about Sergio.If Floyd agrees and Sergio refuses because he wants one that bad(not saying he would) then it would severely alter my stance on him.

    Not that Floyd fighting Sergio should be a priority for either.

    Are there real big-ass diamonds on a Diamond belt? If not, it's ****ing worthless.

    Martinez would be better off flushing the hundreds of thousands of dollars he will have to pay to fight for this bull**** belt down the toilet

    Or he could donate the money to help pay for Paulie Malignaggi's sex change so Paulie can finally live his dream of being Ridge Forrestor's next love interest on Days Of Our Lives. It would also spare us boxing fans of his repressed little ***** rants and raves about how everyone's done his precious ass wrong
