I agree, But Martinez isn't getting any younger or better. (Both are moving in reverse)

**** it, it's now or never. He should at least test himself just to see where's his at. There's no shame in losing to martinez.

Martinez v Chavez Jr will not happen!

There is much more money in fighting Cotto next!

Martinez brings to the table about 147 fans whilst the PR v Mex angle of Cotto v Chavez Jr could be exploited to great effect. Further, Cotto is the 3rd biggest name in the sport in the US whilst Chavez Jr rates big on Latino networks!

Chavez will never fight Sergio....if he wins they'll hold that belt hostage and only defend against losers a la Felix Sturm.

Hopefully Zbik wins for Martinez' sake

I have to give credit where credit is due. Martinez deserves his props for finally giving up the idea that it's okay for the middleweight champ to fight welterweights and junior welterweights.

I don't think the fight will be with Chavez Jr. No way. It's either Rubio or Zbik. If Zbik wins it will be him, then Rubio. I don't think there is any way they are feeding Chavez to Martinez just yet. He's not ready for it and he's cottled well, Zbik isn't ready for it either but isn't cottled as well and needs a fight. Rubio would probably not win, but has the experience to hang in there and possibly pull off an upset, because he does have power.

Exactly. I mean, it was disgraceful when LaMotta fought Robinson, when Robinson fought Basilio, when Monzon fought Napoles, etc. :deal

    +1

Arum will likely match Jr. with Cotto or some other TR fighter.

    Hope I'm wrong.

Don't sleep on JCC Jr. He'll surprise you if he gets a shot at Sergio. He'll dominate Zibik who is a very good fighter.

He's not ready yet....but after the Zibik fight and some time to rest, he'll be ready. Not to say I think he'll win...Sergio deserves to be the favorite but I think he'll pose problems for Martinez for sure. JCC Jr is a big, strong, solid fighter who is improving.
