He gave up the opportunity to put alot good of names on his resume e.g. Margarito Cotto Tsyzu etc.(I know this is arguable but just for arguments sake). There aren't really alot of options out there for him that people will view as legitimate other than PWill. Everyone else is either too small (bradley)or not on his level(Cintron,Quintana,Berto).

This gives him two options(if he beats Mosley) to take a fight that many will view as a risk: PWill and Sergio Martinez.

Currently on the esb Poll it is roughly 59% PBF to 41% Sergio Martinez.

Note: I left Pacman out of the discussion because of their negotiating problems:tired.

that would be awesome ,MARTINEZ has so much movement i feel it would be hard for mayweather to pot shot him , he has demonstrated a great ability to move in and out very quickly , also he has good power at 154 where this fight would most likely take place , and speed to at least match mayweather, who would slow with the extra weight, height and reach advantages as well , on the flip side can he hit mayweather one of the greatest defensive fighters in history , can he work around mayweathers awesome timing and boxing intuition ?

I WOULD LOVE TO FIND OUT , WHAT A FIGHT I HOPE IT HAPPENS

    MY PREDICTION ,???????

I think it's a very marketable fight even though Sergio is not mainstream.

The risks that he brings to Mayweather would make this fight sell.

    We can only hope though.

This will prove that Floyd can beat a bigger fighter...something he's never really done but Pac HAS...thats the difference...Pac has fought people who many think to be bigger guys De La Hoya, Cotto, Clottey....who has floyd fought that is considered bigger than him...De La Hoya maybe...barely though...if Floyd steps up and fights Martinez that would be impressive...he'd never agree though...he'd ***** up a storm about how he's a "nobody" then go fight a lightweight...seriously, why the **** did Mayweather fight Marquez...and before that was hatton...tell him to fight a bigger guy.

This fight can happen at a catchweight as long as it's between 155 and 160. Mayweather can come in at a comfortable weight and they can get it on for the Middleweight championship.

If Mayweather were to become the MW Champ of the world, he would really shut any doubters up, don't know if he does it though, Funny think is I think Mosley handles Martinez with very little difficulty.

Have Martinez (or his team) ever spoke about 154 for being hard to make? Because I personally would prefer it he stayed there, as he's too small for a Middleweight. A fight at 154 against Floyd is very reasonable considering the feats Pac's been hitting for the past year and a half.

But yeah like the poster above has mentioned, it's a fantasy matchup

Why the hell should he go back to 154? He's the freaking Champ at 160.

Do people here really not watch boxing past a year or two ago? Floyd spent his career moving up and fighting bigger guys. How much did Castillo outweigh Floyd by? What about Corrales? Just because he fought two smaller guys recently...one of which outweighed him on fight night. Seriously.

I think that Mosley would have a nightmare with Martinez... Mayweather would be an extremely interesting fight... BANG THE DRUMS!
