Sergio Martinez would school Kelly Pavlik

Hopefully Pavlik comes back with his head on straight....I don't think Martinez would school him at all.... Big difference in size and stength between B-Hop and Martinez not to mention skill....

The simple fact Is that defense beats pavlik , and Martinez lacks in that department. The guy has amazing physical gifts , bit only really started fighting at age 21 , and the lack of fundamental defense shows .

 

There is no way Martinez was going to be an easy fight for Williams. Williams was the favorite and Martinez made it closer than expected but I don't know anyone who thought it would be a walk over.

 

Martinez got hit plenty against PTP, but Pavlik's punches would be easier for him to evade than Paul's punches.

 

You don't think Martinez have very good defense? If not then don't watch another boxing fights again seriously. Martinez is a very good slick (defensive) fighter. The reason Williams hit Martinez with alot of shots which is hard or not is cause of Williams style that throws every angles that most a fighter won't see it coming. Pavlik throws alot of punches but mostly is straight punches that a fighter like Martinez can see. Pavlik has the advantage over Martinez in power but only power most of the time vs a slick fighter won't win the fight. Do me a favor watch Martinez vs Cintron (who hits way harder then Williams btw) and you tell me Martinez is not a good defensive fighter.

 

pavlik hits hard enough to ko sergio....u don't get it...ask jermain and miranda and zuniga how hard he hits...and how do u know this....he has ko'd virtually everyone....the bhop fight was at 170...he was sick and u can say it is an excuse but if it is fact the fight is tarnished....not to take away from BHOP who beats him anyway but do noit think a 154 lb untested gassed out fighter can just duplicate what bhop did....i like william over pavlik but not sergio

 

martinez is good defensively for sure but he is still smaller than KP and would be worn down IMO...it only takes one when u have as limited opponents as sergio...although he is still a relative enigma and maybe he is that good

 

Haha don't try and lecture me on boxing , I have actually been in the ring before , doubt you have even been in a boxing gym. Martinez has good defense but was getting hit with some punches from Paul that were telegraphed . He had problems with the pressure and siZe of Williams , even after Paul slowed down . Pavlik presents too many problems for him.

Martinez cannot mimic in the slightest what Hopkins did to pavlik , and he doesn't have the Power to keep pavlik off him. Btw paul's defense is crap compared to pavlik , Williams doesn't block anything , where as pavlik knows how to keep his hands up . You just can't admit that the fighter who just ****ed Williams up would lose to pavlik ... And as for your boy Williams , he won't get in the ring with pavlik , he'll claim pavlik doesn't want to fight him and then won't sign a fight with pavlik .

You know what if Williams does have more months off then i hope Pavlik vs Martinez happen and i'm willing to bet on money, avatar bets that Martinez will easily and i mean "easily" beat Pavlik. Yes Pavlik hits harder then Williams but he's not fast like Williams and doesn't throw every angles like Williams. Look Cintron hits 10 times harder then Williams and everybody beside ******ed judges thought Martinez easily beat Cintron.

His defense is his offense , against pavlik and even Williams , he can't do that .. Williams landed rights and lefts on him and Many times he walked into punches and even rolled into them. That's a lack of fundamental defense , sure he uses good movement , but on the inside , where it counts , his defense was not impressive .. His chin held up against Williams , it probably won't against pavlik

 

pleased stop comparingcintron to pw...while he does hit harder allegedly he throw 60 punches less a rd and gets ko'd when he gets hit and gasses.....EASILY lol...Martinez over PAVLIK easily....for an avatar bet...define easily

 

Because he and his trainer have both said that fight is dead to them ... They think pavliks health issues were imaginary ... Even though it was well documented in public records that he almost died in the hospital
