Perro looks like he’s fighting underwater the last couple years. The snake is too slippery, 10 or 12 it be, I see, a dreadful UD
Makes you wonder why the heck Andy Lee is hanging em up. If he'd have flattened Quigg or Spike is a domestic dust-up, it'd be him as HBO'S first choice replacement
Angulo took too much punishment and took yrs of his peak. Had he not been so face first, maybe Lara doesn't break his orbital, and he has the best W at LMW. His tough luck v Kirkland didn't help him either. And if I recall, a long bout in INS detention cost him a payday as well as an uncertain return. Bad breaks. I just wonder if Moras knees are healthy and if he can bounce around enough on them not to be caught
Yeah, this is one of those super strange fights that no one asked for but...I'm into it. Mora on points for me.
@IB you always find a way to place "exotic" wordings in your write up. Who uses Parabolas, really? But I love it! Good work man. Anyway, I rate a Proksa win at least 2X better than a Silva win - so that's one for Mora Mora is also less damaged goods than Pedro - so another for Mora Mora is Slick and Longer than Pedro - 3 for Mora Mora will square up sometimes like he did with Jacobs and Vera x2 - so Pedro has a chance. Mora via UD but not without going down once.
Lee couldn't get a big fight and couldn't get up for tomatoes and journeyman. He wanted stay busy fights against names and big fights against contenders or GGG/BJS. He said if he couldn't get those kinda calls, he couldn't get up for it. Guess his fights with BJS, Quillin, Korobov made him far to high risk for someone like Charlo to choose as a step up
Really, really wish this wasn't an eight rounder. We've barely seen hide or tail of both of these guys in years.
I also thought this bout was going to open up closer to evens than it did, I was legitimately surprised the odds are relatively wide.
Update: Only the world championship doubleheader atop the bill (Hurd vs. Lara & Truax vs. DeGale II) will be televised on Showtime, from 10pm EST. There will be no undercard aired on any of the auxiliary Showtime channels, eg Sho Xtreme (http://www.sho.com/schedule?date=2018-04-07) BoxNation will definitely simulcast the Showtime card live from 3am GMT and will at the very least have 1 extra bonus hour of coverage as theirs starts at 2am GMT/9pm EST (which most likely will be time allotted to Williams vs. Gallimore) and may elect to start earlier and show more of the undercard before that, but still TBD (will announce their final lineup tomorrow: This content is protected
Really good information there... Thanks IB. Sigh... Why do they always do this to the fans? Do they really organize these bouts and yet allocate no real importance to them or some such? What the ****?
I'm perplexed myself. If you're going to add such a bizarre fight, you're casting a pretty wide net, maybe hoping it will draw us internet weirdos from the woodwork and increase the ratings for the undercard telecast/stream or something. They can't possibly have thought adding Mora vs. Angulo was going to increase the live gate? Neither of these guys were ever household names among casuals (despite Mora's time on The Contender, and many national TV dates for Angulo); even in boxing-savvy Vegas this match can't be much of a difference-maker for anybody that was on the fence about getting tickets.
Yeah, I'm with you completely. I wonder how bad they feel like they're getting the shaft now, late in both their respective careers long after both have paid any possible dues that were required by the sport. Throw your boxers a bone, promoters, match makers, TV workers & whoever the hell is is involved in that bizarre circle of people...
