I think Sergio can make 154 comfortably.

I don't like the catchweight bs. Sergio was willing to fight Floyd at 154, why not give Cotto the same opportunity? If the fight happens at 154 and Sergio has no trouble making weight, Cotto gets stopped late. The speed, movement, and awkward angles will be too much for Cotto.

I prefer the fight at 154lbs too but in that same token Cotto was willing to move up to MW to fight Chavez Jr why not give that opportunity to Martinez? (Ofcourse Cotto was saying this before Jr started looking impressive and looking like a beast)

hmmm thats true I completely forgot about that.

However, Cotto moving up to a weight he might be uncomfortable at to fight a p4p fighter like Martinez, who is good at the weight, is completely understandable, as opposed to Martinez moving down to a weight he can supposedly make.

Theres been plenty of fighters who move up in weight for the first time and dont carry the weight as well as they thought they would. No need for that here, if Martinez wants the Cotto fight he should move to 154 for it.

Its such a dumb move by team Martinez to even mention a catchweight. In reality they should do whatever it takes to make this fight happen because if they can just get Cotto to sign on the dotted line, Martinez will have the type of fight hes been waiting for his entire career. A big mainstream fight against a HOF'er and true boxing star.

Or I guess he can now go fight the guys like GGG and Pirog, guys much more dangerous yet dont bring in a quarter of the attention that a Cotto fight would.

    Dumb moves my team Martinez.

This fight won't happen until at least late 2013. If Cotto beats Trout, he will fight Alvarez. Pacquiao and Mayweather are also fishing about for a rematch which Cotto would be kean on without the catchweight ****.

Cotto's a very underrated "boxer". He busted Floyd's nose and was very competitive with Floyd. Actually I think only Floyd and Maravilla would outbox Cotto.

As much as I love Cotto, I'm not going to make an ass out of myself. I don't think he has the power to hurt the naturally bigger Martinez, and likely catches counters on the way in all night..

    :good

He did it at the end of one other round aswell, Mayweather's ego was damaged for that 1 minute rest.

Cotto is pretty quick. Not on the level of floyd or pac but his timing is definetly what makes him so quick. He can cut the ring off well but idk how hes gonna deal with sergios power. He doesnt have the best chin out there. Its pretty good but he can be hurt. Interesting to see how this fight plays out. I think sergio tko11 is what ill go with but a ud for sergio wouldnt shock me either. I just dont see how cotto could win this fight.

It's hard to imagine cotto looking impressive in this fight and again like I mentioned earlier I lean towards a Martinez win or stoppage but not without some true adversity for sexy
