Pressure fighter who has no defense or head movement and just relies on his good chin to get inside takes on a boxer who also has good power

Chavez will eat them all night and somethings gotta give.

Martinez may try and brawl a bit but he will clinch of he needs to, he is a veteran fighter hes not stupid fellas

Pac margacheato is actually the worst analogy possible. Martinez generally gets off one or shots off. He rarely throws big combos.

Eh even against pwilly in the first fight he threw combos but more one shot move a couple jabs followed by a left then move. Manny walked margacheato into shots really well. I personally think its gonna be very similar to pwilly maravilla two except chavez aint goin to sleep. Hes gonna walk him into huge left after huge left . He just hasto really worry about that left hook comin his way when he dips to the left after throwin his

Chavez doesn't have "no defense", he has a tight peekaboo guard and has shown a good deal more movement at the waist than before. The one way Jr. can get to Martinez is if he makes it difficult for Sergio to hit him as he comes in. I favor Sergio but that dynamic is still there.

Margarito literally walked into shots. At least Chavez tries to slip and has a high guard. smh

It will be a bit like Haye v Chisora, quick, counter punching slickster against a less skilled brawler with a good chin.

The reason Mosley was able to completely shut down Margarito's offence was due to his physical strength and ability to clinch. Also, Mosley didn't face a huge weight disadvantage of fight night like Martinez surely will.

Shane's physical strength is something that is very under-rated. He's weight-trained for many years and it definitely helped him in the Tony fight, because he bullied the bully quite brutally. Sergio has never really displayed an ability to clinch effectively against a taller, bigger (and presumably stronger) opponent so it's not a great comparison.

Tony is generally viewed as an inside fighter but it's something that i've always disagreed with. To me, he's a mid-range fighter who needs room to get into a rythem and to get his shots off. As a big Cotto fan, during their first fight i was ****ing screaming at Miguel to tie him up rather than back off because he was giving Tony room to get off his right hands and left uppercuts. He was falling into his trap and fought the worst possible fight, and it's since became clear that both Shane and Naziim realised this aswell. Shane made the slight tactical adjustment of standing his ground when Tony came forward and clinching instead of backing off like Cotto did. For all his durability, physical strength and size, Margarito doesn't know how to in-fight. Mexicans, generally, don't know how to clinch as it's frowned upon by them. Perhaps Chavez has also neglected this part of his game, but i'm not so sure.

Although tbf, from what i've seen, JCC doesn't clinch much on the inside at all so perhaps it's an area of his game that is lacking. Sergio is an intelligent fighter so perhaps he'll experiment with this tactic early on to see how it goes, but i'm 100% certain he won't be banking on it and will have several other safer tactics and gameplans to choose from.

I get the comparison between the two. You think Chavez has no defence and that Martinez will land at will before stopping late on accumulation, but - from a technical standpoint and the reasons why Mosley was able to shutdown Tony - it's not a great comparison for me.
