It's not so much about Sergio, than it is about DiBella. He goes around telling people that Golovkin is an "animal, the uncrowned king of the division" (youtube it). I doubt the idea of old Sergio losing to Golovkin appeals to him.

 

Well Sergios career is coming to end, so i believe if he cant get Canelo next he will face GGG, as I mentioned his end is near and he earned the right to take money fights, he earned everything the hard way, an was robbed against Cintron. Canelo fight would get him more money than GGG so i think he will face him if he can but i doubt Canelo team would let him fight Sergio, so Sergio vs GGG could be next, i like both guys a lot so I just want to see good fight.

 

This^. You have real business sense, unlike many here. there is no reason to protect Sergio from anything at this point. His career is coming to a close and its in best interest now for the promoter to have his fighter take on the most high paying opponents, regaurdless of risk. If Sergio gets an L from Canelo or Golovkin, so be it. It's not like he has that many fights left in him anyways.

Fighters sometimes turn down big money fights early on if it means a potential loss (hurting marketability and future profits) or a potential beating (effecting the fighters physical performance thereby making him take more time off, not being 100% afterwords etc)

I wonder if Sergio will invite that girl and her mom to the fight? The one who was the victim of bullying. They are normally at his fights and get some camers shots between rounds. It was a nice cause that Martinex took up for and made for good publicity but inviting them to witness the carnage of what GGG has instore for him may not be the best idea.

I am being serious, not just making an inappropriate joke.

 

No doubt HBO will have lots of good reaction shots of her crying. I can just see Lamps now talking about how the little girl has left the arena because she couldn't stand watching Sergio's annihilation, and promising to let us know if she returns.

 

Yeah! I hear you but she is not that little anymore and she has been boxing for a while. I am sure it would still devastate her though.

On a side note: Sergio did a lot for her and hopefully others in her position. He really seems to have changed her life for the better.
