    Most hadn't seen this Cancunian slugger prior to his shocking upset win over Jorge Linares last month. He seemed plenty confident taking on the world-renowned Linares, though - feeding off the love shown by his partisan home crowd - and announced himself on the world stage in style with that display of relentless explosiveness. He also secured a #1 contender rating and put himself in line for a WBC lightweight title final eliminator.

    All he's got to do now to get a crack at champ Tony DeMarco is beat WBC #2 Hammerin' Hank Lundy.

    For any Mexicans or devout fight fans with more extensive prior knowledge on him, how do you rate his chances against Lundy based on styles and form? :think Then against DeMarco if he gets through?

    Also, how old is he? :huh It doesn't say on his BR page and he obviously hasn't got a Wiki. I thought I was slick, doing a Google search with his name and the word "años" - but turned up no mas. :verysad

    It was easily the highlight of his career so far, as he hasn't stepped up too often - but food for thought is that his one loss in the last three years was by split decision, to the very good Ali Rahimov...(the other was an MD to a journeyman, whom he later KTFO to avenge it...)

    :? Of all the things for a boxer to go by...does sort of suit his in-ring style, though, to be fair.

    Saw that fight live...I was shocked by his performance! I Tought it would be over in the first as Linares wobbled him badly but he savagely stormed back fast!

    He was on one of the internet boxing shows after his last fight(pretty sure it was Leave it in the Ring).

    He said he was 27(I think, it could have been 26). Think it was the show immediately after the fight, if any one needs to verify.

    Boxrec has him listed as 27.

    Nice aggression, but he was a beneficiary of "Wild Card deficiencies". IMHO I see him losing to good Boxers and Boxer/Punchers, but it would be EXCITING.

    i think he can beat lundy (by ko only) in a good fight. lundy has a fragile jaw. agaisnt de marco i dont know. he cant outbox him or out tough him.... but i havent watch any other fights of Yeyo but the Linares fight

    Yes, even though beating Linares put him into the #1 spot it was only a "Semi-Final" eliminator to get @ DeMarco.
