Career high isn't as high as the floyd/pac payday which he really wants. If theres nothing else take what he is given and cash out.

**** yeah! Sturm > Pirog! Pirog might be on the rise while Strum is on the decline but that is about it. What has Pirog done compared to what Sturm has done? Pirog needs to stack on some names on his resume. And speaking of....Sturm might be a good name on that resume. So if I were Pirog and Sergio didn't want to fight me, the next big name on MW will be Sturm.

Who has Sturm fought. Saddest **** is that Danny Jacobs was better than any of the jokers on Sturm's resume.

The only thing you can say about Sturm is that he beat De La Hoya, a 154 fighter moving up. The sad part was that was 7 going on 8 years ago.

Pirog is the guy, as for Geale, he has never fought and beat anyone on the world stage.

Maybe not, but he is a legit MW and it is pathetic to see Sergio begging smaller men for checks when he can go out and get some cash by fighting guys in his division.

The joke is he claims he can't make 154 and compete in all those fights down there, but then wants to fight Manny or Floyd at 152.

And who has Pirog fought? There is a diffrence between who the public thinks has "skills" and the actual things they have accomplished in the ring. As of right now, Pirog hasn't done ****, maybe with time but not right now. Not even a controversy "desicion" like Strum with ODLH. You never now, maybe on his next fight he might get exposed and the hype will be over, just like Lemiux was the hype on ESB before he lost. I am not discrediting Pirog, he is decent up todate, but he needs more "names" on his resume.

He doesn't need any faded "names" he is out to fight the best now like atrue fighter does. The man has skill and everyone who has watched him can see it.

Sergio sees it that is why he won't fight him.

Perhaps if Pirog was such a true fighter he should actually fight a top 10 middleweight before acting like an obvious opponent for Martinez. And perhaps the thing Sergio really sees is a guy with who won a paper belt against a prospect that rightfully belongs to him, who has done absolutely nothing to increase his name value in the States since winning said belt, and whose two defenses have consisted of an unranked junior middleweight and a completely undersized middleweight who got worked by N'Jikam in his only meaningful fight.

BTW, just last month you were huffing and puffing about Martinez "ducking" Angulo (without of course realizing Angulo was the one who turned that fight down), but suddenly a Martinez fight with Kirkland would be unacceptable. Excellent logic.

Martinez should fight with Pirog,Sturm, Proksa and of course to have the rematch with Margarito ( it's a must ) ..... and then retire ....

Pirog and Geale are fighting early next year in the US. Further more, Golovkin will soon be a free agent, he's fighting in December on Wlad's undercard and then maybe either N'Jikam or Sturm early next year. Sergio will soon have plenty of people to fight.

Meantime I'm fine with a Martinez-Kirkland and Lee-Macklin card for St. Patrick's Day in NY. Fighting Kirkland will actually give Sergio more publicity than anyone else (Mayweather & Pac are not a realistic options), which makes the real fights he'll have with Pirog and Golovkin even bigger.

I don't believe Pirog-Geale is anywhere close to being signed. Last I heard Pirog's team was again talking to Lara after the proposed New Year's Eve date for the Geale fight was turned down by Showtime.

    Sturm:
    1. Has not beat anyone as good as Jacobs in many years, maybe ever (fat ODLH?)
    2. Has no interest in fighting Sergio, or a live body. The fight is a pipe dream

    Geale:
    1. Tight dec against Sylvester, did not look very impressive at the time, even less so after the Proksa exhibition
    2. Easy win over a creaky Karmazin. Worthless, Osumanu Adama did just as good.
    3. A close controversial loss to Mundine. Does this carry any points these days?

    Macklin:
    1. Controversial loss to Sturm. That puts him in with Gevor and Randy Griffin, and behind Castillejo
    2. Regularly struggled with bums, check his 2 bouts prior to Sturm, or his bout with Campas

Jantuah, who may be Pirog's 2nd best win, is probably as good as anyone on Geale's or Macklin's resume.

Pretty charitable way of framing the Jantuah win. He was obviously past it and looked out of shape in that fight. His biggest claim to fame at 160 was losing to Abraham. I'd say Geale's win over Sylvester is easily more impressive than that, even if the Proska domination has maybe taken it down a notch or two.

It's close, I might give you Sylvester. He would not have been a sure thing against even that version of Jantuah. I doubt he would have done any better against AA, probably worse.

Also consider the manner of victory. Geale-Sylvester was close and competitive, with Geale winning on activity, and Seb landing all the clean blows. I did have Geale ahead slightly, but was frankly surprised he got the nod.
