I think they would both cause each other problems in there. I think Martinez combination punching, speed, and power would cause Floyd problems, and Floyds smarts and superior skills would confuse Martinez along with the right hand.

Floyd has greater arm length than Barker

Floyd walks him down behind a high guard landing 1s and 2s all night

Barker had success walking down Martinez

Floyd is a master at walking down southpaws

Martinez looks very uncomfortable when forced to take the lead

whatever you want to call it

Sexy Sergio was on the backfoot, didn't show much lateral movement, and was eating more punches than usual

Martinez was eating the same punches he's always ate. Pavlik, Williams, Dzinziruk, they all had no problems finding him.

Only this time, Barker did what the rest didn't do, and made him work harder and think more when he [Martinez] wanted to land his shots. He moved better and maintained distance.

what I saw was that Barker would come forward but also take small steps backwards to be out of countering range

this made it real ugly for Sergio

Yup. He had him tamed by doing that.

It's a shame he gave that up and became more flat footed from round 6 onwards. That allowed Martinez to find a home for his flurries, and grow in confidence.

Body shots Or the stamina issues that seemed to rear their head against Belgacham?

Hmm, possibly. Although I only remember a few body shots introduced after Barker became a static target. I'll have to watch the fight again.

The way I see Floyd fighting and frustrating Sergio is by coming forward with his high guard and catching and neutralizing Sergio's jab while he tries to establish his jab. It's hard to out jab a southpaw who is taller than you (Ortiz) but if he keeps his hands down, then you can land easy.

I see Floyd maybe getting caught a few times in the first few rounds from Sergio countering him, while Floyd tries attack him with he hands down. Barker had success because he didn't give Sergio much to counter and when he did throw, he would step back and also bring his hands quick and high enough for him not to get countered.

I think Floyd will feint Sergio into moving a certain way with his hands down and then follow up with a lead right. He'll also make sure to get out the way and pot shot to avoid counters like this

Sergio after a while may try to start leading more like he did with Barker, but Floyd won't stand still when he flurries. In the words of Money Mayweather - "You won't see him hitting me with that wild ****"

Also Sergio is the bigger man, but if they end up in the clinch (which I expect Floyd to fight in the pocket some), then Floyd will get the better of it. I think Sergio's inside fighting is lacking. Even when Barker had him on the ropes, he would just sit there and put one hand up and get caught over and over.

Martinez is still pretty dangerous with his hands down, though Mayweather is very quick, I wouldn't go all out though trying to get him when his hands are down but instead look to set him up.

Martinez has looked good just like Pac because none of these guys move there head. Martinez can just go down the pipe all night long without these guys slipping punches and countering. Mayweather can completely take away Martinez jab, he will just need to watch for Martinez left straight while tagging him with his own rights.

He'd stick jabs at Martinez which would hit/**** up Martinez nose.

Then he'd mix in beautiful straight right hands with feints in order to make Sergio react, and he'd put his right hand down Martinez throat all night long onto a wide UD.

    good points all around

Martinez's foot speed will be very interesting to see as he has a good jab and likes to be out of range until attacking

his right hook is monstrous and he is much bigger physically but has the speed to match Floyd

I dont think this is a safe fight for Floyd at all, hands down or not Sergio is tough

the one flaw that Sergio should be more worried about is his gas tank he tends to tire and need to take breaks

Floyd would feel Sergios punches a lot more than Barker did however. Barker is a full fledged, true middleweight. I could see Sergios punches taking a toll on Floyd even if they were blocked for the most part.
