Derevyanchenko's got great conditioning and wears guys down but (like Jacobs) doesn't sit on his punches... All the flush jabs and body shots he landed had a cumulative effect but never once looked capable of putting GGG on his back or even earning his respect. (I had Sergiy winning 114-113 BTW). Derevyanchenko could get a close decision in a title bout with the likes of Andrade but I really don't see him going too far with his lack of KO power.
Being at a fight is the worse way to score? Should judges score the bout from home? I get what you're saying but cmon
Beatiful slipping and rolling inside. GGG couldn't get good angles/leverage once SD was in close. Mainly caught SD at range or caught him coming in. Derev seems to get caught coming in early on a lot. Love his style though. He puts a pace on guys and makes them work. Both levels too. His fights with Tureano, Jacobs, and GGG have all been really exciting. Dude is entertaining.
I forgot about the Culcay fight, that was a good back and forth fight too, Culcay is underrated, he gave Andrade plenty of problems as well. Also thought Derevyanchenko was very good against Tuereano Johnson as well.
I just watched this again. Allot of sergeys punches where landing on arms and gloves or not landing at all that he was getting credit for. Golovkin ducked under allot of them and hit him with some massive shots. Clear golovkin win by 3 rounds.
I don't have ring side seat money bro. I'm saying fans are in an arena, far away most likely, being swayed by the crowd. The best way to watch a fight is on TV with the sound off.
No. That's the same level we've seen Derevyanchenko fight at in his previous fights. Maybe, even a little worse than against Jacobs. It was a top ten middleweight level but nothing special. What is remarkable is how far Golovkin has fallen to where he is on the same level as Derevyanchenko now.
Also he didn't have his team when he fought Jacobs and Culcay. At his best I think he is a little better than Jacobs. If DAZN is looking for action packed fights, they should put him in with their guys, even Canelo.
That was my thoughts, he has started to look his age. It took a painful effort for him to win this fight and it's harder to recover at this age. He'd have ko'ed this guy 4 years ago
G even said in the post fight interview that he had a bad day and SD had a good day. Claiming it should of have been a draw. Banks in the post fight interviews clearly was dissapointed with the outcome and didn't believe G truly won that fight.
