Sergiy Derevyanchenko Appreciation Thread

I haven't watched the fight but he was quality pre title fight days, he's getting up there in age too. He's certainly not the same fighter if he can't deal with Adames. Hope he hangs em up.

 

Onen thing for sure, he's the best 15 and 5 fighter in boxing. His record would look better if they included WSB days. He's the ultimate 'nearly' man. Honestly I thought he edged GGG and he's been so close other times. Him being dropped in the final round and losing a razor thin fight, he seemed to have won, unfortunately it's Sergey all over. He really should have finished Munguia when he had him hurt and of all things, to go down in the final round, just not mean't to be. Terrific fighter though.

 

If he got those 3 wins he'd be a HOFer. I don't think he beat Jacobs. GGG fight was closer but I had GGG winning just barely.

 

He beat Jacobs and GGG and Munguia. The guy is the ultimate Eastern European who gets screwed.

 

He’s also the nicest and most humble dude ever. Got to spend an hour ish with him at the sauna and even when I told him I thought he beat GGG, he didn’t agree or disagree, just smiled. Dude has gotten ****ed in his career by judges, hopefully he made enough bread to live good.

 

Always liked SD. He's one of those fighters that will give any of the elites a tough night. Just never could quite win the big one. You have those type of guys in every era.

Falcao should have a belt soon, Lara has one. He can beat them.

 

I feel for SD. A solid fighter. Really tough and really skilled. He’d be a worthy no.1 MW in other eras.

Muguia lost that fight and he knows it. No matter what the judges decision was. In his heart, Muguia knows he lost. When he re-watches the tape he will know again.

 

Great fighter should be undefeated IMO.
