are you serious? you really want me to go back and bring up the multiple threads ive made back probably before you even JOINED calling williams the truth, while guys were still saying they think Cintron knocks him out (before the cintron margarito rematch) Thing is, right now i dont consider Williams a welterweight, and im not really interested in seeing a guy who stands practically eye to eye with arreola, and is challenging pavlik for the middleweight title, fight guys who are legit welterweights like cotto and mosley, when the welterweight scene is so hot right now with everyone fighting everyone. I dont consider Williams a welterweight.... so its not exactly the same thing. That being said, if he goes back to 147 after this fight... then yes, even though im not really interested in the fight, i think mosley/cotto should fight him. so you dont really have any point at all
Relax, cowboy! I never said you. I was just saying that I agree that any boxer who has a really good record and who has beaten good competition in his division should get to fight the best boxers in his division, regardless of how much of a draw he is. It's supposed to be the point of the sport. Good grief, don't be so damn sensitive....
well then dont say 'fans like you' and address your post to me.... and i simply responded to your post anyways, its not like i went ballistic or anything we actually are agreeing on the issue, i think
Fair enough.:good And I think we do agree on the issue. My only problem is people should hold ALL fighters to that same standard of "It's what the sport really is about anyway" Not just the fighters who aren't megastars...
Agreed. And i see where PW fans are coming from, i mean... you want your guy to get the big matchups, not stumbling blocks nobody knows about... and yes, when it comes to cotto i too feel the same way, i mean, god it would suck.... but thats when you suck it up and hope for the best, not duck and dodge and find excuses not to fight someone. I will say, its a bit differant if your fighting someone better then the opponent proposed... as in, not fighting fighter B, who would be a very good matchup and a tough fight, and instead fighting fight C who is ranked higher by everyone and is a bigger fight. Often fighters get labeled for ducking when people forget that when they fought the person they did, it was seen as a good fight and that person was ranked ahead. For instance... lets say Williams goes on to fight Joel Julio, or someone of that sort, then the heat on him for not fighting Dz would be more then understandable..... But if he goes on to actually fight Pavlik, then fight Mosley, then fight (insert top elite fighter here) then its completely understandable that the fight never occured. i kinda went off topic a bit, not sure that makes sense :think
Dzinziruk does seem to be the logic choice right now. Martinez/160 titleholder would all be good alternatives as well.
Good post, Walkwithme are you still there. PW is looking for a fight and DZ is looking for a fight so what's the problem. Let's see some fights to see who is the best not all this who pays me more.
There was a time when Paul Williams was only known for challenging Margarito. Dzinzinruk is the worldchampion and he defiinitelh deserves a shot.
