Round 1: Sergiy throwing a lot of powder puff jabs and hardly any are landing while Lukas walks forward and lands about 5-6 good left hooks throughout the round. Again, Sergiy throw a lot of jabs, but did not follow through with any left hands while Lukas landed the more meaningfull and clean blows. Kinda seems like a big left hook towards the end of the round bothered Sergiy. 10-9 round Lukas.

Round 2: Again, the round starts with Sergiy throwing jabs, but this time he is throwing a few hooks here and there with no steam on them. Halfway through the round, Lukas lands a clean right hand. Sergiy landing nothing, Lukas keeps a very high guard and keeps coming forward. He landed a few good left hooks and a good right at about 20 seconds left of the round that snapped Sergiy's head back. Clear 10-9 round for Lukas.

Round 3: Starts off with Lukas being the agressor again, standing in front of Sergiy and lands a few good left hooks. This seems to be his money punch against Sergiy. Lukas lands a few right hands upstairs and then to the body. I didn't mention in rounds 1-2 but Lukas is doing some o.k. work to the body. He's not going an insane amount, but he throws some hard punches there every so often. Left uppercut followed by a right hand land for Lukas. Finally, a somewhat significant but still a powder puff left uppercut by Sergiy that does nothing to Lukas. Sergiy throws two right hooks but they are both blocked. Lukas responds with two left hooks that land on Sergiy's face. Right before the bell rings Lukas hammers Sergiy with a right uppercut that snaps his headback while Sergiy tries to respond back with a punch of his own the bell rings and the ref breaks them apart. Another 10-9 round in the bank for Lukas.

Round 4: Sergiy - Right jab, jab, jab, jab, right hook, jab, jab, jab, hook again all blocked by Lukas. Sergiy trying to keep Lukas at a distance with his jab like he has been trying previously, but obviously it's not working. Lukas keeps coming forward. First minute or so seems like a better round for Sergiy because Lukas is not doing anything, just standing in front of him, but still Sergiy is not landing anything at all. Lukas fakes the jab and shoots a right to the body. Sergiy lands soft punches. Last 30 seconds was a good shoot out, but hardly anything landed for either fighter. This was a hard round to score so I'm just going to call it a 10-10 round.

Round 5: The round starts off and Sergiy's powder puff jab is no longer apparent and he is just standing toe to toe with Lukas trying to keep a high gaurd but shots are getting through. Maybe he is taking this round off? why would you take the round off when you've clearly lost at least the past three rounds and possibly the fourth? Good hooks are landing on Sergiy's face, but they don't seem to be bothering him. Still, they're clean blows. Sergiy lands a few soft shots on Lukas' face but Lukas is getting the better of the exchanges. The round comes to an end with Sergiy throwing punches, but nothing landed at all. 10-9 round Lukas.

Rounds 6-8 were missing but round 9 did show highlights of round 8 and it seemed like Lukas got the better of the highlight but I am not going let it decide a round.

Round 9: The round starts off with Sergiy throwing meaningless punches and none landing. Lukas just standing there, hardly throwing anything at all. Sergiy lands a right hook to Lukas' face and then lands two more hooks to the body. The punches did not seem to bother Lukas at all. Good left and right to the face of Sergiy by Lukas. Although the left was partially blocked, the right got in. Soft left uppercut gets through to Sergiy's face. Sergiy standing toe to toe with Lukas and he is throwing meaningless punches, while Lukas is hardly doing anything. Maybe signs of slowing down? Lukas shoots a hard right and lands on Sergiy's face that makes the Crowd shout. Sergiy lands a few punches, Lukas comes back to the body and then to the face and he makes Sergiy take a step back. I thought Sergiy was winning the round due to the fact that Lukas was hardly throwing anything at all until the last minute or so. Lukas landed good hard shots compared to Sergiy's powder puff punches that were blocked for the most part. This was a tough round to score. You can score this round for Sergiy based on workrate alone or Lukas due to clean effective punches. I am going to go ahead and call this a 10-10 round.

Round 10: Sergiy pumping his Jab again, but it's not doing anything because Lukas is still right in front of his face. Sergiy lands a few left hands. Two jabs by Sergiy, fires what seems like a hard left uppercut but misses. Lukas lands a leaping right hand as Sergiy is stepping back. Hardest punch of the round so far. Lukas fires a right, a left and then slips a bit, both punches are both partially blocked. Sergiy lands his jab and a straight left, backs up Lukas. Sergiy lands a right uppercut to Lukas' forehead. Sergiy's best round so far. Slapping left hand lands for Lukas. A good right lands for Lukas. Lukas lands two punches, but seems to be slapping a lot with his left hand round ends with no good blows. 10-9 round goes to Sergiy.

Round 11: Lukas comes out firing with a big overhand right. Jab and a left uppercut land for Sergiy. Good left uppercut lands for Sergiy bt Lukas responds right away with a hard right. Sergiy firing his jab from a short distance. Sergiy misses with his jab and gets tagged with a hard right hand counter from Lukas. Lukas continues his work with hard shots to the body. Another right to the body. Lukas is landing good body shots, but they don't seem to be doing anything to Sergiy. Lukas shots a right to the face that is blocked then to the body. Sergiy responds with a a powder puff 1-2 while Lukas manages to get in a slapping left hook in the exchange. Lukas fires off a combination that doesn't land. Not much happening towards the end of the round until the last five seconds or so Lukas fires off a combination of slapping punches. Again, this was another difficult round to score so I'll just go ahead and call it a 10-10 round.

Round 12: Toe to toe 'action'. Hardly anything landing for either man. Two rights land for Lukas. Lukas fires off a combination upstairs and downstairs while Sergiy responds with a combination of his own. Sergiy throwing a lot of punches, just being the busier man. Finally, Lukas fires off three punches, but only a left lands to the jaw of Sergiy. Another slapping combination lands on Sergiy's face. Both trading soft punches. Lukas loads up a big right to the body and lands. Sergiy keeps coming. Lukas lands a good right and left to the face of Sergiy. Sergiy responds with a good left uppercut. Good right uppercut lands for Lukas. Last ten seconds of the fight and Lukas lands two solid blows. Fight ends with both men exchanging punches. It was close with Sergiy being the slighter busier man in the round, but Lukas landed the more telling blows. 10-9 for Lukas.

Overall I was really disappointed with Sergiy Dzinziruk. I kept hearing all this talk about him being the uncrowned champ of the 154 division but I thought he lost this fight. Even if Sergiy Dzinziruk would have won rounds 6-8 (Highly doubt it) I still have him losing to Lukas Konecny 115-116. Maybe it was the long lay off? Or maybe it was just a tough matchup for him. Lukas was having his way with him in the early going, seems like he gassed out.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this fight. Also, if anyone could maybe link rounds 6-8?

wbva has it in its entirety. I would normally download it but don't wanna mess up my ratio. Dzinziruk's best win is a close UD off Santos, who was coming off a 15 month layoff.

I quite disagree with you. Konecny vs Dzindziruk was a very close fight, but Dzindziruk was the defending champ and far more active in the ring than Konencyn who connected with the more telling punches. The Czech hero just didnt do enough to dethrone the reigning champ IMO.
Yep! You are right in saying that the classy Ukranian had a much tougher time with the Czech than I thought before.Konecny is a very decent fighter who twice beat Khoren Gevor and some other good opponents. His losses to Varon and Piccirinelli(??) were quite controversial. He was robbed in Spain.I watched that fight. Varon should never have won that fight-he would have lost outside Spain.Konecny won the first 6 rounds big time, ran out of gas in round 7 ,but was still competitive throughout the last 4 rounds. He won 6 rounds big time and had 4 close rounds.Nevertheless, the Spaniards somehow managed to declare Varon the victor of that fight. KOnecny vs that Italian was another very close fight.Konecny floored the Italian early and won the first few rounds quite convincingly ,but ran out of gas in the later rounds.Anyway!
Konecny is a very good boxer, but I never thought that he would make the water that hot for Dzindziruk.Props to the Czech for providing us with such an entertaining and exciting fight which was fun to watch!
As for Dzindziruk I,too, was a little bit disappointed with his performance against Konecny. He took far too many punches in that fight IMO.His defence was as leaky as a rusty and old tube.
He seemed to have a bad day against Konecny, and the Czech has his number. Dzindziruk had looked extremely good and convincing in his performances before.Dzindziruk's encounter with Daniel Santos is one of my favourite fights.
