Can anyone tell me more about this fighter? seen him fight Daniel Santos in 2005 an he looked pretty sharp. Looking at his record on boxrec he doesn't seem to have gone on from this as he's only had 5 fights in as many years against fighters i know little or nothing about.
Daniel Dawson was a decent B level fighter from Australia who the Razor just completely dismantled with ease in his American debut recently. He's fighting Ricardo Mayorga next, and will be heavily favored and with good reason.
Is he not that well known in the states then? He's only ranked 24 on box rec, surely he should be higher?
Excellent jab and poise. It should be very interesting to see how he responds to the lunacy of Mayorga. It could make for a very entertaining fight.
boxrec rankings are meaningless. He'd been inactive before the Dawson fight because of his promoter, so he lost a lot of points on their stupid ranking system. Realistically if you take out Williams and Martinez from the division (hopefully they're rematching at middleweight) then Dzinziruk should be number 1 in the division.
He's got THE best jab in the sport, bar-none. It's a frickin thing of beauty.. I like em, just hope he steps up his game soon...
I've only seen him fight once an he looked very good. His punches where sharp an crisp, sort of amateurish. (not in a bad way though)
I don't know if anybody will agree with me, but he reminds me a bit of Winky. He's a southpaw for starts, rangy, moves in behind a high-guard, he's busy and everything comes off the jab. Just not on a prime Winky's level obviously, although he's still one of the best at 154.
It's because he's barely fought in the last three years. Hopefully he gets more active now that his promotional dispute has been resolved. And we'll see how much he has left against good opposition. He looked like he was already past his peak before the layoff.
Jack Loew masturbates while watching Dzinziruk's jab. In all seriousness, the only fight I've seen from him is the Dawson fight which was a good fight. Not great but good. I heard he was suppose to fight Collazo but it fell through and now he's going to fight Mayorga.
That ranking is laughable and a perfect example of the limitations of points-based ranking. He is a top three man in the division, easily - and any opinion to the contrary is borne out of ignorance. His jab is the best since Bazooka's (and close to as good).
The scary thing is his jab could have been even deadlier if he had a longer reach than 68". He must have really short t-rex arms for someone 6 foot tall but you don't notice it because he displays such precision and timing with the jab. Margo by comparison has at least a 73" reach yet can't use his jab for **** which is a shame.
