Sergiy Vyacheslavovich Derevyanchenko vs. Jeremy Ramos & Eleazar Holyfield vs. LaTreveon Grant RBR

I'm slightly worried; he looked a little soft at the weigh-in and Ramos is the larger guy (and only stopped twice in 15 losses, by pretty big punchers). But then, he also has a losing record so I would really hope this isn't a banana peel for Derevyanchenko.

 

Eleazar Evan Holyfield vs. Latreveon Malik Grant, 6 rounds @ super welterweight

 

Obviously for the children of ATGs, expectations are always high and almost never met. "Yung Holy" has already been knocked out once in his first twelve bouts (by a tomato can, too ) - so probably not too high a ceiling. Shane Mosley Jr. level would be a lofty ambition as it is, let alone Tim Tszyu or CEJ.

- okay yes, he is a tall scrawny jabber, but how about we just refrain from comparing the 11-1 clubfighter to any ATGs?

 

90 seconds of Holyfield slowly walking Grant down with a jab, then started ripping body shots once he got him backed into the ropes/corner, got him to drop his guard and take a few raking hooks across the jaw, and that was basically it. Grant down and not interested in getting up.

Giovanni Figueroa vs. Taran Larry Lamar Ward, 4 rounds @ featherweight

 

This was originally scheduled at super bantam, but Figueroa weighed 122.4 and Ward weighed 124.4 (and I think the commentators said something about him rehydrating to 140something?)
