Gennady Golovkin and his people has so far stated on camera a whopping 986,145,145,625 times that the Kazakhstani wrecking balls goal is to unify the middleweight division. I know it's not very realistic to believe the individual in question would man up like this and stop fighting the likes of Jan Zaveck, Delvin Rodriguez or Yuri Foreman but lets get hypothetical. Lets say GGG is still short of one belt. Lara moves to 160 and either wins the WBO title OR becomes mandatory for one of GGG's current belts (the WBA, the WBC or the IBF) and GGG is ordered to fight him next or be stripped of that belt. Does GGG then abandon his goal of becoming sole middleweight king because Lara is on the middleweight scene, being he's petrified of him as you like to point out. And if that is the case, why not move to middleweight and call GGG's bluff? COME AT ME WITH YOUR DELUSION HATERS
Pretty sure that Lara, although he's very comfortable at moment with what he's making, sees the fight with GGG as potential cashout fight. Only thing is he has wet dreams about how much he'lI be pocketing lol. I think he'll move up in the summer-autumn of '17 . After he'll wait 5-6 months after the Foreman fight and see he's in a cul-de-sac at 154. His only hope would be a fight with Andrade and I highly doubt that will happen anytime soon
Money will make him move up...or down, like everyone else. I even have a feeling that Pacquiao would move up to 154 to avoid Crawford in order to fight Canelo for more money. If Golovkin was willing to move up for Froch and Chavez Jr. in lieu of a belt and was willing to move down for Mayweather and even considered Pacquiao in lieu of a belt then he can budge a little for Canelo BUT.... If Canelo is willing to move up to 165 for Chavez Jr. then he needs to cut the crap and try to get the Golovkin fight done. Boxing is a business but this ain't the old days.
He won't make that much. He's has a similar sized following to Willie Munore who got 100k. Lara's getting 10x that for bums. Brook was paid pretty well but Brook brought a lot of his own revenue to the event. Something Lara can't do.
GGG wasn't prepared to drop his middleweight belts for the Chavez/ Froch fights. He only held the WBA back then and had recently beaten the mandatory. He was planning to drop back down post fight
Pac canelo is my dream fight. Unfortunately I think pac handlers are done in seeking tough challenging fights. If it happens, even at this age I still give pac a chance to pull an upset, cause canelo has lazy feet.
The only question I've asked Golovkin's biggest detractors is why a percentage split hasn't been offered to him for a Canelo fight? In that case if the money isn't there then it isn't there. I don't see why that's a problem. Well that and if Canelo would accept a 15m flat fee offer from K2. It'd be considerably larger than his biggest purse after all...
The OP seems more hung up on Lara than any GG detractor is talking Lara up as a potential opponent for the man of three Gs....
I'm a GGG hater in my prime, and it's obvious Lara isn't moving up to face Golovkin because all the big challenges are at 147or lower. Lara wants to test himself. In fact, if Golovkin had any spine at all, he'd saw off a leg and compete at 147 and 154, because there are sharks down there. Instead he wants to languish in bumland fighting bums in historically the weakest division in boxing. Has Golovkin tried to challenge himself by moving down to 147? Well, HAS HE? Yeah, that's what I thought.
