Just had my worst run in a very, very long time.. 1.5 miles and I was beat.. Was going for a 2-3 mile tempo run, and ended up as 1.5 than a half mile walk... Feel like **** now.. Going to do my long run for the week Saturday which should be 7 miles at least, but Im not feeling too confident atm.. I hadnt drank any water before my run today, just tea earlier in the day, but that wouldnt hit my performance that badly would it?
Nah, I doubt it. Tea is water and the diaretic effects are out weighed by the hydration you get. I've gone on plenty of runs on only a snack and 4 cups of coffee. I've even run races on only coffee. You're probably just having a low energy day. We all have those.
I've had the exact same problem earlier pal. The same route i do every thursday (about 4 mile) and usually **** it but i was blowing after about a mile and half, same in sparring monday, blowing after 2 rounds. The only thing i can put it down to is a cold but i've had them before and it's never affected me like this.
Just get a good nights sleep and drink a lot before bed. So you wake up full of energy from needing a **** and a good nights sleep. It gets me up every time.
