Funny thing is Roach admitted that Cotto is a bigger draw than Mosley, ooops Freddie's mouth hurts Pac again atsch
NOPE. What I am arguing here is NUMBERS. I'm a business man...and I'm debating the business aspect of this fight....In this thread I'm not here to debate who is a better fighter, who fought a better version of who, or who has more KOs....That's for another thread..This is specifically about who the bigger draw is, who the better business man is, and who has EARNED the right to have more say in the purse amounts. Awards are one thing..He's got his FOTD award, FOTY awards, and whatever else decorations he's received, belts, certificates, coupons whatever...he's been rewarded for what he's accomplished inside the ring. But on a similar token, Mayweather has to be rewarded for all the effort he has put into attracting the casual fan. Now the argument can be made that Pac too needs to be rewarded for attracting the casual fan...and that's TRUE... Taking into consideration Mayweather's acheivements when it comes to generating much needed attention and revenue to the sport, the best scale to make a comparison is using PPV #s, in which case Mayweather has proven to be able to ATTRACT more buyers than Pacquiao. Hence the reason he deserves more. You use too many double standards. BTW, your above post, how does it prove manny deserves to stop negotiations by saying he will not budge,a nd demand 50/50 when clearly Floyd has worked harder in promoting his fights (according to you) and attracting more buyers??
Well he is...Even when Mosley was at the top of his game, after the WINNING the BIGGEST fight if his career against DLH...He couldn't sell out Madison Sqaure Thaetre against Forrest...MST houses 5000 people!!!! What a draw!!!!! atsch
If me and my friend form a partnership. I currently have a client base of about 20 and earn revenue from them of about $200,000 per year He currently has a client base of about 35 and earns revenue from them of about $300,000 per year Why in the world would I expect to get 50/50 from him? Should I say that I graduated 1st in my class, so obviously I'm smarter than him and deserve as much money???? Should I say, "well hey look, we aren't THAT far apart, so let's just do 50/50"?????? Should I say, but 2 years ago when you still had only 20 clients, you agreed to a 50/50 split!!!!!?????? You guys arguing for 50/50 are absolute ******ed, I am astonished that there are people this dumb and unreasonable and illogical out in the world
It's worse than that...It's like if you and a co-worker had the same job, but he outperformed you, produced more, generated more, and worked harder to generate more revenue. You boss has to give both of you a bonus but keep it within an allotted amount, and he is going to split the bonus, but you say...." I want 50/50... of that,a nd I'm NOT BUDGING".
floyd has always been a higher draw than pac but agreed to 50/50 during the first negotiations so what has changed? It seems like when one obstacle is out of the way he brings up another one.
If there is anything contraversail about anyone's P4P status its Floyd b/c the vast Majority consider Manny #1. Don't get all upset and start calling names. I'm not a PAC ****...I just call it like I see it. I didn't call you a ***** (that's just corny...as corny as the term "*******"). But if it helps you feel a little better then do you homie. FOTD is FACT..... I didn't say he was the "people's Champ" ....you did. And I'm sure the vast majority agree with you. I'm saying Floyd is the true WW champ after beating Shane and PAC is still the rightfully recognized P4P Champ. which sets the stage beautifully for this fight to happen. I'm just saying Floyd is the one with all the baggage that's holdin up the flight.
Many things changed. 1.New Negotiation table. 2.Floyd killed Pac in buys in their most recent PPV fights. 3.Floyd using same tactic Pac's team used in there first negotiations..PPV #s for their ast fights. 4.Pac acting like a ***** trying to sue everyone. 5.Pac lying, and playing games. etc etc etc...
Look....your agrument would be valid if we were talking 6 figures....we are not. We are talking about 8 figures and potentiall 9 figures collectively by bringing the two parties together. Without either one there is no POT that is gonna generate that kind of revenue. Smart business men wouldn't come up with reasons NOT to make that kind of money and compromises will be made. now if you are a small fish in the sea and you are working with a Shark.....of course the shark is gonna get the lions share. But these are Two Sharks with a chance to get a HUGE school of fish if they are able to come together and meet half way. If no one party is not willing to meet half way they aren't gonna be enjoying **** and they'll have to move on to less rewarding options.
those are excuses uliuli. you didn't give me one good reason why floyd deserves a bigger split. he was already a bigger draw but agreed to 50/50 so why change unless he is trying to kill the fight.
Already tried to use this fact but it is not accpeted Floyd fanatics. It doesn't help their stance so I completely understand.
I wouldn't say vast, maybe a majority...But nevertheless it's contraversial..because the otherside has a valid point....P4P is ALL subjective, so really, you can't say there is a defenitive RIGHT answer all the time. Mad, me? Why? I'm cool...You're a ******* bro..I thought *******s were proud of thatn title? Anyway, whatever... ...You call it how you feel it, because if you called ithow you see ity, you would see Mayweather is a bigger draw, and justly should get the bigger purse. it is a fact that an organization gave Pac FOTD award..Yes, but that organization doesn't speak for ALL OF BOXING. It's opiniated, subjective, and MORE IMPOTANTLY it doesn't determine PURSES. Floyd came into the first Negotiations with ONE major demand...Random Blood tests..Pac didn't want them for one ODD reason or another and bailed out...went on to fight Clottey.. Floyd wanted testing up to the day of the fight, but Pac REFUSED, so eventually Floyd conceded to 14 days from teh fight. Still, Pac didn't want it...who knows why??? nevertheless Pac bailed out of negotiations and opted to fight a meaningless fight in Clottey. Then Pac comes back saying..fine fine..Porteen days okay... New negotiations...Floyd came to the table with a clear demand, and that was he got a bigger share. he was willing to negotiate, but wanted what was rightfully his, or what he had earned... ...Pac said he would not NEGOTIATE (budge). Clearly Pac is the one being impossible to work with..what a pirmadonna he's turned ot to be.
:good most of the other posts are simply not worth reading. floyd is a proven *****,but his moronic fans come up with the silliest ways to try and defend him....everyone with a brain can see that pac wants this fight and mayweather doesn't.
Hey man you are more popular at happy hour (something irrelevant to business) so you deserve 50/50. You have to love ******* logic.
