Roger climbed into the ring in the Judah fight and they let that continue, and you see where that led. Should have done the same for this fight.

The ref created more confusion by not giving the "down" signal to the time keeper and then let Kirkland go to HIS corner instead of a neutral corner. The count should have been stopped. Maybe it would have been clearer then to the Molina's corner that the round wasn't over. This keeps coming back to ref error.

Losing 3 of the last 4 rounds, Being blasted for an entire round and finishing on ***** street is not my definition of being well on the way to winning, but if you were rooting for him, I guess you could spin it that way.

Yeah except I could care less about Molina and I picked Kirkland...... even predicted him on here and was rooting for him....

no ****ing way did he lose 3 out of the last 4 rounds....Kirkland deserved 2 rounds the whole fight including the 10th!! Kirkland is awful and I made a horribly innacurate prediction.

That's exactly what this whole thing is about.

Regardless of who you are rooting for, the outcome of way too many fights is being decided by incompetent judges, referees or possibly corrupt boxing officials.

I really don't want to see this, shame I'll have to miss what people are talking about in Molina's ability. Sad, really. I'm sure this is exactly how it went down.:nono

Molina made Kirkland look like a fool! Gale Van Hoy should have been banned from boxing years ago! The ref? A pure idiot!

    No, Keith.

The round ends when the timekeeper sounds the bell.

If a count is in progress, the timekeeper is NOT SUPPOSED TO SOUND THE BELL.

But in this case, there was no count in progress. Molina hit the canvas AFTER the bell sounded. The ref began his count and, hearing the bell, the cornerman began his ascent to the ring, thinking the round was over.

After the bell sounded to end the round. The more judicious decision would have been to continue with the count till eight. After all, the purpose of the eight count is to protect the downed fighter. It means that he doesn't have to engage immediately upon getting to his feet, to give him a few seconds to recover. In this case, as the round was over, that wasn't necessary. To use it this sense showed an appalling lack of judgment on the ref's part.

There were reasonable grounds for the cornerman to believe it was OK to enter the ring.

The Texas inspectors failed to make sure he didn't enter.

Finally, and most significantly, the ref did not believe there was grounds for a DQ when the confusion ensued. Otherwise, he would have isuued it the moment the cornerman entered the ring.

Instead, he continued with the count, and only waived the fight off upon complaints from some source outside the ring, ina a manner reminiscent of the ref's behaviour in the Ali-Liston second bout.

**** call by a shitty ref who mishandled the whole affair all evening.

Belt on the line and I think that the unified rules were in effect. Can't be saved by the bell in any round means he has to be able to continue after the count if I'm not mistaken.

Unified rules were in effect, not Texas which brings us to a number of issues

    Firstly "KNOCKDOWN MECHANICS"
Referee failed on parts 1 and 2, and didn't do part 3 very well

He seemed to interpret the rules one way...until the people ringside told him otherwise...

    Also
    Where was the supervision here?...

Kirkland got gifted a DQ decision by a corrupt ref working for golden boy promotions.

HBO knows it, the fans know it, and most importantly I know it! That type of B.S. is getting old!:fire

You made only one decent point. the Texas inspector, which there is one of, may not, and that is purely speculation, have prevented the cornerman from entering the ring. But who knows is he didn't tell him not to enter the ring, or was involved with the chief second.

The fact is that out of 6 cornermen only ONE got up on the apron. the rest knew the round was still going on.

And no matter how many times you say it, the round is not over until the ref calls the round over.

There have been more than one occasion where the bell sounded early and a ref has waved it off to continue the round.

And a ROUND IS NEVER OVER WHILE A COUNT IS BEING CONDUCTED, except for in some commissions the last round.

    The rest is sour grapes.

If you only gave Kirkland two rounds then you I really don't believe the rest of your bull**** post. Either that or you are one shitty ass judge.
