Serious question - Could Enzo Calzaghe make Khan a better fighter?

I say serious question because even though Enzo is Ring Trainer of the Year a vision of Khan on the pads down in Newbridge seems strangely ridiculous.

I know Enzo talks **** sometimes but he has had a lot of success as a trainer the last few years.

If he had an opportunity to train Khan, would he improve him as a fighter?

I'm not sure. Enzo's strengths are in the offensive and fitness departments. If you look at his fighters, none would be mistaken for Pernell Whitaker

Khan needs to work on his defence, his offence is elite in my opinion

Defence is the key for Khan - I know he has been bashed a lot lately, but I feel a short period with Manny Steward could really help him, then train with one of the Mayweathers.

Trouble is - could Khan's ego put up with 'not being top dog'

I honestly think Khan will go to Enzo Calzaghe. Not because it will help his career but because Warren say's so.

    Bad move city.

Rees, Mac, Calzaghe; all big offensive fighters.

Khan has the offensive game well-sorted at this stage of his career. It's the defence he needs to work on.

I agree. Khan already has the tools going forward and watching Rees and Maccaranelli you would be forgiven for assuming Enzo is no defensive mastermind. I would imagine Warren would have the sense to acknowledge this. Didn't he try to convince Joe to seek a trainer of higher merit in the early days?

Yeh Khan is fit enough and good enough going forward, its defense he needs to improve. No way should he go with Calzaghe.

Doubt Khan would go with Enzo Calzaghe after some of the stuff he was quoted as saying about a possible Khan v Rees match up - suggested Rees would wipe the floor with Khan and it would be the easiest night of his life!

I have seen enough of Khan now to know that with the right matchmaking he can definitely win a world title however he is also heading for defeat against the top fighters. A lot will depend on how Frank Warren gets him to avoid the stiff challenges. He is along the lines of Oscar De La Hoya basically a flat track bully.

Olu comparing Khan to De la Hoya is like comparing Ivan Robinson to Sugar Ray. Yes he too has two arms and legs but he's no De la Hoya.
