Yes, there are glass jaws in boxing.

In perfect fact, however, they probably lost 4 of their first 5 fights (or worse) by KO and retire.

    THAT is a glass jaw.

Some boxers, of course, have greater punch resistance than others. Some also have more power, more strength or more speed or better footwork than others. It is ever so in all walks of life.

But in discussing glass jaws, what is your exact, precise definition?

I don't understand a post that says "when this guy fights a real contender he's going to get knocked out" or "when he fights someone with real power he's going to get knocked out." If a guy has a glass jaw, why does it take a good fighter or a good puncher to knock him out? If it's glass, shouldn't it shatter even if hit by an average fighter or average puncher?

We just had chin-checkers claiming that Juanma getting KO'd by Miguel Angel Garcia was proof that he has a glass jaw. Garcia has knocked out 27 opponents in 33 fights. Does that mean they all had glass jaws? What are the odds of that?

    Please help me understand.

What I wonder is what the difference is between a glass shattering and a great KO punch, and if there is can the chincheckers point out an example of a great KO

I have a hard time believing that those so called "chincheckers" are even boxing fans. If you're a fan of a sport, especially one as violent as boxing, you should respect the risk each fighter takes for your entertainment. Often these guys have families they are trying to support so give them a break ffs.

Zakman (average one post every six hours for EIGHT YEARS saying the exact same thing over and over) and Rico wouldn't come within a thousand miles of trying to answer the question posed in this thread. It would reveal too much about them.

Your definition is too limited. It's not just journeymen. Glass jaws, like other aspects of boxing, exist on a continuum.

Fighters with glass jaws are those who hit the canvas repeatedly - particularly from light-hitting fighters or those moving up from lower weights - OR get starched, i.e. knocked out cold, multiple times.

Of course, as indicated initially, not all fighters have equally bad chins. But most fighters have glass jaws of one degree or another.

I just logged on here I can't be on here 24/7/365

If you actually watch Boxing we shouldn't have to even explain to you what constitutes a Glass Jaw or not.

The chincheckers are just trolls who should be pitied. I would love to see them go into a boxing gym and spout their nonsense of 'glass jawed disgrace to boxing' etc, they're not real fans of the sport because they have no respect for guys who risk their health for our entertainment. Seriously who cares if a guy has terrible punch resistance, it doesn't make them a disgrace. The chin checkers are a disgrace by their own definition seeing as they would get starched by a 15 year old amateur with headgear on.

And isn't zakman pushing 100?

Glass chins exist in boxing, no doubt about It, but it's pretty disturbing to watch these chinckeckers come in and gloat after someone gets knocked out time after time

    Have some respect ffs
