If JMM was the same size as Floyd, I don't think the result would have been any different. In hindsight, it was an impressive display of boxing. Very impressive.

No no. The Ring had that weigh-in the week before the fight when Mayweather was still in training and maintaining his weight. He would've been more on fight night.

The fight is still void of any meaning due to Floyd's actions. Floyd came in as normal at welter, made a lightweight Marquez prepare for 142. He had a 4lbs weight advantage as a full-fledge welter over a guy coming up two divisions. I can't look past Floyd cheating Marquez on the scales in giving him any credit.

The fight was made at the catchweight because it was the only way it would present any semblance of a legitimate fight. Floyd killed that, and in the process killed any legitimacy that win might've had.

Marquez had tons of trouble with Pacquiao's unorthodox style the first time, that's why he was knocked down 3 times in 1 round.

People say Pacquiao couldn't knock down Marquez but Floyd did? Pacquiao has fought him 3 times.

Marquez was almost KO'd in the first two fights, anyone else but Marquez would not have survived imo.

First points irrelevant considering floyd won. Second point has some legitimacy however pac fought them at 144 and 150 so it wasn't like they were at their natural weight and if you think marg or cotto beats mayweather then your am idiot. And Shane wasn't prime for floyd and got ****ed up. Shane was even more shot against PAC and got ****ed up.

    A big fat **** all.
Marquez looked good at this weight because he has Pacquaio's number.I hope he goes back to lightweight because people have to realise that moving up weight is the exception, not the rule.I fear bigger fighters with nowhere near Marquez' ability would make the weight difference pay.I don't want to see JMM's fabulous Indian summer blighted by fighting lesser guys who are just too big for him.The only other guy I want him to fight at 140 is Morales, then they can both ride off into the sunset leaving us with many wonderful memories.

It does the same thing that Pacs destruction of Oscar does compared to Floyds split decision

    Eh no it doesnt.

Floyd fought a far,far better version of DLH.

He fought a younger DLH,belt holding DLH,at DLH's own weight.

Manny fought an older, weight drained, coke addicted DLH....BIG difference.

It shows Marquez is capabable of beating welterweights and it's a win over an ATG who had great performances still within him. Marquez is much more than a 'blown up featherweight' and he has an ATG skillset. It's a very good win on that basis, Mayweather did have a size advantage, granted

Destroyed within 2 against Pacman but 10 against Floyd.

Not really. Mayweather had an 8lbs advantage on Marquez in the ring, as well as reach and height advantages. In addition, Marquez had never fought above 135lbs before and pretty much botched it up, having no fitness trainer and coming in thick around the middle. JMM blunted his own effectiveness by the weight issue, where Mayweather stayed razor-sharp by not even trying to make the catchweight.
