The few white males in America who get involved in combat sports choose to do wrestling, MMA type fighting, or some **** like karate. It would be hard to find a boxing gym (not a boxing fitness place) where all of the patrons were white, whereas finding a boxing gym where everyone is black or Mex would be easy. White people in America, and now an ever increasing number of black people in America do not start boxing at a young age. Boxing is huge in the UK per capita, and if the best white fighters recently produced are Hatton and Calzaghe, that really tells you something.
"Why do the Britts Have good/great white fighters, while the US mostly does not?" A: Because in the US, they pay the winners with fried chicken & watermelon. atsch (hits self in head, then runs for cover.....) I mean, Jeez.... what a question. :blood --------------------------------- If there actually is an explanation, (I doubt it) it might be that in the USA, the percentage of blacks that are dirt-poor is higher than the percentage of whites that are dirt-poor. (but is it not the same in Brittain?) - but don't worry, boxing fans, that's all changing very fast: Thanks to our lovely bankers, stock-brokers, and corrupt politicians, we'll soon have a virtual ARMY of tough white guys, willing to trade permanent brain damage for a couple of good meals.
Because the whites that we have here in America have glass chins and glass hearts since they are mostly rich suburban whites. The whites in Great Britain seems to be more rougher and tougher but UK still has the most glass jaws per capita.
Not a true story, he was trying out to be pro catcher and he sucked. There are plenty of "great white athletes" at many other positions in the NFL and MLB, as well as in many other sports. Boxing is goddamned hard way to make a living. It usually takes some pretty severe circumstances to lead one to it.
:good I've made similar comments, i.e. that the way the US economy is going... US fighters - of whatever race/ethnicity - will be making a comeback.
Boxing in Britain has taken hold much more since the days of Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank( before them it was a minor sport in Britain) and thanks to the WBO where they both first became champions with,(an extra belt to blagg about being world champion). As a result, the fanbase and participants have hugely increased.America has lost the dominance it had to some degree also but as for white British fighters predominantly coming through,i don`t know why that is.
