Why is Mayweather accused of ducking Antonio Margarito (who at the time most notable fight was Kermit Cintron) to fight Carlos Baldomir (who's most notable fights were Zab Judah, Arturo Gatti, Joshua Clottey) for the LINEAL Title.

Why is that considered a duck?

Don't for one minute suggest that even though Baldomir had a title he was a more dangerous opponent.

    Not more dangerous. More accomplished.

Margarito was a small fish, while Baldomir was the man in the division - regardless of whether he was stylistically easy pickings h2h for Mayweather.

It's people like that that are giving the sport a bad name. Mayweather was ready to vacate had they made Pacquiao a mandatory at one point not to long ago suggesting belts are of no interest to him but had no problem fighting Baldomir for his belt instead of opting to fight Margarito who at the time had a belt if my memory serves me correct and was a legitimate ww before his hand wrap scandal. Belts only make sense to fight for if the opponent holding it is someone he's sure he can beat. And Baldomir was very beatable

Margarito was far more proven at ww. Baldomir was a guy who came out of the blue and got a couple of wins off of name opponents to win a belt. He was a terrible champion

Not really. He's saying it wasn't a duck to instead of fighting a nobody (just because some fans think said nobody had the right set of attributes to knock Floyd out, which always was just wishful thinking) choose to fight a Cinderella Man holding the keys of the kingdom.

If you say so. Mayweather picking the path of least resistance at its finest

I wasnt really referring to the danger level, like it has already been mentioned. Baldomir was indeed the more "accomplished" of the 2 options, and was indeed the true Champion of the decision. Whether you like it or not, While belts may not mean everything, Achieving that lineal title was especially in the manner that he beat him, is and was gonna do a lot more for his legacy than beating an at the time fairly unknown and untested AM.

If you say so..... And besides, how do you know AM was more dangerous, the 2 never fought each other, they fought in very similar styles. For all we know because of ther fact that AM was no faster than Baldomir, the fight may have look exactly the same. So... Stop with your nonsense, lol

Margarito untested? He was a ww for a while by the time Baldomir fought 4 round Zab Judah, a small shot Gatti, and a green Clottey who got DQ for headbutting too much. In reality, he was just a tune up for Judah and whom Judah didn't take seriously. Sounds like easy pickings for Mayweather if you ask me

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that Margarito's style would have drove him crazy

His style was very similar to Baldomir's, soooo. What happened when Floyd fought him?!?

Whether it was a shot Gatti, a DQ of Joshua Clottey or he was a tune up for Judah does not matter. Those 3 alone were still better than AM's entire resume at the time, add the fact that he was the lineal champion... I'm not getting your point, except the fact that you really hate Mayweather....... Or is it that you are just one of those trolls i keep hearing about...
