JMM is past his prime but he is in no way shot. He's still in the top 10 P4P list. Indeed, he's still a force to be reckoned with. If Khan beats him in a spectacular fashion, then he is on his way to being one of the elite fighters in the business. I don't think he will be in the top ten. He needs a win over a couple of more big names to even be considered in the top ten.

I maintain that if the Marquez of 135 (Diaz/Casamayor) shows up, then he will break Khan down.

But if Khan does manage to win this, he will do it after being in the fight of his life. He'll get credit from me, but it won't mean I'll disregard the fact that Marquez was fighting at a weight out of his comfort zone, and at a time where his powers had diminshed slightly.

Either way, a win over Marquez will be an impressive one.

Simple factors, Khan uses his reach to great effect 5'10 to 5'6. JMM will find it hard to land or get on the inside. Khan has a under rated jab, double jab and maybe even faster hand speed than Floyd, JMM will find it hard to counter him.

lol jmm is no push over, he is more dangerous than maidana.

khan team taking wrong move by fighting jmm, jmm lost to floyd. people are really underrating marquez, he can punish khan for the mistakes he will make.

I've already taken notice to Khan, and I believe he could pull it off.

Floyd doesn't come forward though, and had way more of a size advantage while Marquez had been fighting at that weight for the first time. Khan is fairly defensive and darts in and out similar to pacquiao, and if we all remember correctly, a speedy fighter with a few holes in his defense (at the time at least) is susceptible to Marquez's sweetly timed combinations. Capitalizing on Khan's dropped right hand when he throws can open the door for JMM to get on the inside and do his work against Khan's chin. I'm not saying Khan can't win, but if Marquez comes prepared, he can put him down.

Very true, but i think it was there to see that if he wanted to stop JMM i think he would have been able to.

But as you said Mayweather looked happy to get the rounds in.

Khan wont rush in, he will give JMM respect and take his time, move around work the jab. But I am sure JMM will land some shots, and Khan will take them. I think at 140 Khan is more at his natural weight, and hydrated, well balanced weight on legs he will have no problems with taking some shots.

Yet too see Khan unleash fully at 140, vs Kotelnik he was mostly on the back foot, but vs Salita we saw Khan throw some power shots which had some good results, not saying he will KO JMM but lets see what happens.

Then I would be very impressed, and I would have no doubts about him going on to rule the 140 division in the next couple of years.

What he did to Salita isn't really a great display of his "power" to be fair.

I watched the last chunk of the Kotelnik fight earleir today and I noticed Khan faded quite a bit, he really reverted back to arm punching and his "power" dropped off even further.

kotelnik also seemed to scare him with a right hand that landed.

I don't think we've seen enough to comment on whether 140 will be better for him. Beyond looking better and having 5lbs less to worry about on paper, we can't say a whole lot about how he's progressed.

That's a good point, he will work on the outside with range and give marquez respect, but the wobbling in the eleventh round of kotelnik after virtually no punishment makes me think those solid shots by marquez can put him down, even if he takes more hits than Khan. It will be a good fight, can't say for sure. It's Nacho vs Freddie once again.
