Then Pac will get up and finish the fight victoriously. I thought Mosley had a chance against Mayweather with a new technical discipline instilled by Nazim assuming he didn't age, but clearly he is and has been past that point of deteriotation for a while now. Not much can help him now. I don't think he has a shot.
He has a chance to KO Pacquiao in the first 3 or 4 rounds. If it goes longer than that it's gonna be real ugly.
which will be great,i am looking foward to this one bud.wonder if mayweather will sign if manny struggles.even though he appears to be slightly over the hill or well and truly over it,i'll never write him off completely.people done it against margarito.
Its a rarity, but we agree...... ......If Nasim Richardson is the trainer many people think he is, he's going to design a plan to have Mosley fight about a 6 round fight. This plan was actually implemented by the Petronelli's and Marvin Hagler against Tommy Hearns. The Hagler camp had rationalized that there was no way Marvin Hagler could stay at distance and box with Tommy Hearns........ I read in a boxing magazine way back then that the plan called for Hagler to bring a heavy pace with him and take the fight from the opening bell to Tommy Hearns. .....that same magazine quoted the Marvin Hagler camp as saying, "had Hearns lasted past 6 rounds, Marvin's gas tank would have been on empty." Thats what Shane Mosley has got to attempt to do if he's even to have a glimpse at a possibility of winning. .....furiously like a bolt of lighthing from the opening bell take the fight right at Pacquiao and attempt to impose his superior physical strenghth on Pacquiao on the inside......crowd Pacquiao and not give him the room to be in position to step to the outer reaches of him and have Pacquiao dart in powerfully to throw his left hand. If Mosley who's a pretty good inside fighter can crowd Pacquiao and not give him distance, that may give him the chance to get Pacquiao uncomfortable enough so that Mosley can land some heavy thunder on the inside with his right hand and hooks to the body. Mosley can hurt Pacquiao with his shots if he catches him cleanly. .......Mosley will have to be very diciplined in his attack if he happens to hurt Pacquiao. Once Pacquiao is hurt, Mosley's instinct might be to make room for himself to throw his follow up shots form a longer distance for more power........that however would play to Pacquiao's favor, he's faster than Mosley with both hand and foot from mid to long distance, and Pacquiao at the bat of an eyelash can have the fortunes change from that distance with a well placed bolt of a left hand. IF Mosley hurts Pacquiao on the inside, he's going to have to stay on the inside and use his superior physical strenghth to body up and toss Pacquiao around purely with his physicality. The downside of this gameplan is that if it does'nt pan out like planned, Mosley is dead to rights and on dead empty........assured to get pummeled by Pacquiao at the midpoint of the fight, and Mosley would know that going into the fight having decided to follow that plan. Most fighters dont attempt to use that plan because the flipside of it is an assurity of you yourself getting knocked out. If I'm Richardson, I'd talk Mosley into following that Kamakazee plan and go for broke! Kamakazee is Mosley's only chance to win, so to answer the thread starters question, no.....Mosley does'nt have much of a chance.
Mosely just better be careful when he goes all out in the early rounds, Pac's hook is quite dangerous aswell and often times finds its target. Mosely needs to hurt back very early.
Well, there's no doubt in my mind that Mosley can get to Pac's chin, but that window will probably close as the fight goes on, so it's in Shane's best interests to end it as early as possible.
It's so funny how you people can watch the fight and create a narrative in your head that is completely at odds with what actually happened. You just flat out choose an explanation rather than distilling it by thinking about what's going on in the fight. It's the same with this fight, people are picking Pac, which is the proper choice, but they are picking him for the wrong reasons. They think Mosley's aged, rather the reason he will lose is that his chin has gone. Shane lost to May because he didn't know how to get to May. If he was faster and stronger than he ever was in his prime it wouldn't have been any diff (well, unless he KOd him with that early punch, but that's not what we're talking about). I mean, use your head. What does the fact that he managed to land on May early on in the fight, but then after 2 rounds he couldn't lay a glove on him, tell you? Did he age after the second round on the stool? See how not smart you are? Shane with a good chin I favor significantly over Pac. In the Mora fight he got hit with some punches that buckled his knees, and unless those were just punches he didn't see coming and he can still take punches, I expect a Pac KO. That said, Shane has a chance to land a few big punches and put him down, but given the chin, highly unlikely.
/agreed i believe that the trainers know that too.... it will be a carbon copy strategy of the Margarito fight.... Box but dont get too committed, dont get into fire fights. Shoot for below to drain down strength. Mid rounds, start committing heavy shots, test strength on chin.... Start pouring on offense....
i think there is a big chance for shane.... when he fights in quickish succesion its done him favours.... he fought mayorga... didnt look good... was underdog against margo... blitzed him! big lay off against mayweather played a part aswell as age! he fought mora... looked dodgy.... fightin in quickish succesion and underdog.... who knows!!
Mosley does have a good chance, he's only ever been beaten by smart boxers, pac is not a smart boxer, he is a freakishly gifted ambush fighter, however mosley cancels out some of his gifts, with his granite chin, speed and power. If i was mosley, i would go into this fight chill, don't go crazy at the start and gas, be patient, Pac leaves openings, and mosley has the ability to make him pay, he's not slow on his feet like cotto or marg, he has one punch ko power unlike hatton, cotto and marg. In a way he combines the aspects of all 3 of those guys that gave pac some problems, and throws out all the weaknesses. I respect pac for taking this fight, it's a tough one even if people dont see it, the style matchup makes for an interesting fight
