Seriously, besides Ward, who does GGG have to fight?

Ward's career has no doubt stalled, and largely through fault of his own (even if I believe he tends to get short changed on victories against Chad and Edwin).

All the same, there's a reason GGG-Ward is the most talked about plausible hypothetical since Floyd-Pac among forum goers.

It's one of the more intriguing match-ups out there, despite the many truths you brought forth.

Agreed, and while I'm having fun playing devil's advocate, this is a fight we'll quite likely see at some point :good

Why did Ward refuse to fight Stevenson at 175 or even at 168? Ward is a natural light heavyweight....................Duva is working a Kovalev/Ward fight for next year, but Ward does not seem to be very interested. Perhaps Ward can get Ricardo Lopez to come out of retirement on a weeks notice?

Depending on how well GGG-Lemieux does numbers wise, and depending on how competitive Cotto-Canelo is, and whether Lee-BJS happens and how that unfolds...

Depending on those 3 things, I think it could conceivably come sooner than later.

    Here's to hoping.

    :cheers

I think Ward should fight Kovalev and Stevenson for a tune-up.................he could also fight Beterbiev on the side...............

For a tuneup, huh. You want a 160 fighter to fight the 2 best 175 fighters as a tune up. haha

it's a lose-lose situation for Golovkin, anyone he faces or doesn't face, he's still the bad guy/ducker/cherrypicker

@rock...i see where you got your name....you named yourself after the place under which you dwell.....or it must be you are used to people telling you "youre dumb as a _ _ _ _"

i dont care if wards been inactive and hasnt fought in 8 years....hes still accomplished...more than ggg...hes still rated now currently p4p....his resume is better and hes a name in this sport whether you want to admit it or not

so you and the ggg fanboys can cry over and over " he needs to build his name back up and stay active and relevant"....even though you know its not true and its one of a laundry list of excuses you guys have.......wards name isnt gonna get any bigger or more relevant fighting any 168lbers....we already know hes better than all of em.......you guys just want to buy more time so the fight gets harder and further apart for ggg so you dont have to face the facts that ggg is scared...i dont blame you...i can hear you guys whispering to each other "if we hold out long enough ward will be at 175 and well be TWO classes apart!!!!! TWO!!! Well never have to fight him now"!!!!!!!!!

    I'm glad you mentioned time.

Why? Because, frankly, you're terrified of it.

You've got to keep living in 2011 and 2012 because that's the only card left as to why Golovkin shouldn't get 75% of the purse and dictate the weight and venue.

Time is also your enemy because you see Ward's worth eroding the longer GGG waits, all while GGG's star continues to rise. So, you're desparate for this fight to happen ASAP. You can't afford to be patient, and neither can Ward. GGG can. The longer time goes, the more those paths diverge unless Andre takes active measures to get his hype back.

Ward's bigger, younger, more accomplished, and the American. The last American Olympic champion. Forget the fact he's not calling the shots here. It speaks to how badly he's hindered his own career that he's not a PPV headliner himself when that was his for the taking, while this unknown foreigner did it in a mere 3 years of U.S. exposure.

I can see why you'd like to pretend the last few years haven't actually happened and why having a Dempsey-esque wait in between title defenses is fine in this day and age.

I'm massively amused at how GGG haters simultaneously claim Cotto is THE MAN at 160 and that GGG is picking on a much smaller guy who shouldn't be at middleweight.

    It's one or the other.

yeah rock...i can only imagine the level of hate if ward were fighting top 10 contenders every 3-4 months for the 3 years.....and by contenders i mean b level fighters who are ranked in the top 10 somewhere of his divison.....im sure youd all be singing his praises...lol....you wouldnt be ...youd be knocking him

ggg fights b level ranked contenders from a weak division...and you guys think its cool

@sugar...i dont know too many who call cotto the "man" at 160....i dont hate ggg....i do hate on his fanboys though.....and even i know ggg is pretty much the man at 160...i dont even consider cotto a mw....so i def dont consider him the man there....and i hate on ggg alot here because of his jerkoff fans

I'm a huge fan of Golovkins. I am also a jerk off. Doesn't change the fact that GGG is the greatest athlete, regardless of sport, ever to compete in the history of known human evolution😛

Cotto, Canelo and possibly rematches with them if the fight is close. Andy Lee. All PPV. But he still has to beat Lemiuex. If he loses to him everything goes down the toilet.
