For years now this man has done nothing but try and talk himself into a fight with Joe Calzaghe. It became tedious and annoying a long time ago. After an entertaining fight against the limited pascal he finally got his hand on a world title (which he would never have seen if not for Calzaghe dropping it)....Now I was hoping he'd drop this Calzaghe dribble and make an etempt at establishing himself as a legitimate world champion, But within 24 hours the dribble begins again! Fact is Froch and his mouth make it hard not for you to hate him! If it ever happened i'd be suprised if Froch could steal a single round for Calzaghe and I'm confident in saying Kessler would send him home early. STOP the talk and start defending your title against the top five in your devision. :bbb
All I'll say is that Froch deserves credit for taking the Taylor fight (if it does get signed). That's a helluva first defence but it's his mandatory so hey-ho. As for the JCal talk it don't matter now the guy is walking away from the sport. If Pavlik had beaten Hopkins I reckon they would've fough but not to be. I'm just looking forward to seeing the match-ups at 168lbs over the next year or two.
I think there is some crazy WBC rule that says your first defence has to be a mandatory if you win a vacant belt - or something like that, i'm sure you have to make more to begin with than if you had beaten a champ to win the belt anyway. I agree with stella.......instead of constantly trying to call out everyone with a big name, who could bring a big purse, he should shut up and get on with making his own name by fighting people at his own level.
For years Froch has talked fireworks and until last week has produced nothing but sparklers. If Froch can defeat JT and that's a big if because JT will see Froch's shots coming and show him some movement, something Pascal didn't do. If Froch could do that then maybe he could tempt Joe, right now if you asked most people they'd say "carl who?"
Froch should forget about Calzaghe, and move on. The Taylor win, if he could pull it off, would be a great one and pretty much as good as any of Calzaghes...
yeh froch gets a bit excited about calzaghe- but i guess hes always felt hes up there on hes level. i actually think froch would give JC the strongest test out there.
