The dude was entitled to his opinions, which weren't remotely controversial. I don't have to agree with Ali's opinions on race to admire his courage on justice issues.
I respect that. Every man has a right to his own opinion. I don't think It's the job of any athletes or entertainers to give life lessons or directions to lost individuals, but what Floyd does and says outside of his profession is on display. It comes with the territory the he has embraced. Good or bad Floyd's gonna have to deal with everything his celebrity brings and that includes being held under that proverbial microscope ALL celebs are subject to. I'm not losing sleep based on Floyds life situation. But it is news and it is interesting to hear the views of others who somehow find ways to justify Floyds out of the ring actions.
Floyd has boxing skills. As for someone to look up to, a role model, likeable person, warrior in the ring? NO!
you know how many professional boxers beat their wives, were drunks, racists, mob enforcers, fight fixers, and god knows what else? ****ing plenty, But since I am not inviting any of them over for tea I don't give a ****. Respect the game, and we are cool. Don't respect it, i.e. putting bricks in your gloves, I won't buy your PPVs, watch your HBO fights, or tune in when you're on ESPN.
Says a lot about Floyd knowing that even mike tyson gets more love, respect and admiration. No one can use the excuse that Floyd is a victim of being young black and rich for the critical perception the vast majority have of him.
NO warrior (floyd) This content is protected warrior (somebody who stys his ground and doesnt back up) This content is protected
See: Gatti, Hagler, Hearns, Arguello, Katsidis, JMM, MAB, Morales, Frazier, Holyfield..... If you don't know what a true warrior is, let me know. I'll send you some fights to watch. Floyd may be more skilled most of the guys above, but he'll never be considered in the same category with them.
