very good post. :good i agree that the 2nd barrera fight should not have happened and was just a money fight for pac but it has to happen just because of mab's stature. it was mab who wished for it and threatened to retire if not given the pac fight thus bypassing jmm for a couple of months. but one thing that it established was that the first fight was no fluke and pac's style would always trouble barrera.
Let's solely about Pac here. Forget about his fans. Every fighter has its share of fanatical fans. Just imagine if Hatton won the fight. Hell would break loose in Vegas.
I dont know why people cant see what its there, SORIANO says elites fight elites so a contender cant fight an elite, so just tell me SORIANO, HOW THE **** DO YOU BECOME AN ELITE IF THEY WONT FACE YOU? and do you seriously think david diaz was the best man at 135? that was a **** movement from arum and you know it or you should if you know something about the boxing BUSINESS, the TRUTH is that pacman has choose to get the money in stead of challenges, he took an old MAB, an old EM, an old and weight drained ODLH, a low risk/high reward in hatton, a BS David Diaz, he also took an old jmm an still manny people thought jmm won, i want to see him take real challenges, i am not saying i want him to loose or that i think these guys should win, no but i wanna sea challenges against: Chris John, Humberto Soto, Robert Guerrero, Joan Guzman, Juan Diaz, Bradley, Nate Campbell, etc... And DO NOT THINK IS HIS FAULT, its his team fault, those ****ing advisors, what a piece of **** like i mention in other post, trying to get cotto at 140 or mosley at 142, THIS IS NOT ****ING POINT SPREADS, this is BOXING, the fight DOES NOT HAVE TO BE EVEN, IF YOU WANT TO TAKE A CHALLENGE TAKE IT FAIRLY NOT THIS BS IF YOU DONT WANT TO TAKE THE RISK, SIMPLE DONT TAKE IT...
I dont think anyone hates Pac.. But there are fans who arent too thrilled by him at the same time.. I mean he has a fan friendly style and has a great attitude but that doesn't mean that he floats everyone's boat. I respect his fighting spirit but im no big fan of him..
the only way you could hate pac is if your a fan of barrera-morales-marquez-delahoya etc. Pac beat them all so you gotta hate him for that but good point if your just a boxing fan in general then hell yeah you gotta love the way he fights.
hey mother ****er learn more about boxing dumbass. check its history, fighting styles, historical fights, learn more about asian/asia pacific boxing specially, research pancho villa and fighting harada and even jeff fenech, then get back to us ******
Finito lying down on a shrink's coach: Shrink: Since when have you been hating this guy, Pacquiao? Finito: Since that guy from Asia became an HBO star, especially so when he dumped my boy, Chi. Shrink: I can't help you, boy. I have been big fan of the small guy from the Far East ever since he pummeled that *** in fishnet. If you'll excuse me I need to watch his spectacular KO of Ricky Hatton. Come back another day if you want.
I like Pac for all the right reasons as stated at the beginning of this thread, and I would never hold it against a fighter how his fans behave.
No need to trash a great fighter who has paid his dues. Those guys who want to challenge Pac should prove themselves as the top challenger by beating fellow challengers. That's the reason why we have eliminator fights. You cannot just challenge the top honcho. You have to earn it to deserve it. Chris John? Who's he? A featherweight who's only rep is beating JMM. Joan Guzman? Same category as John. He could have lined himself against Pac had he made weight against Campbell and beat him. Bradley? Maybe later but Pac has other big challengers than him. Floyd or Marquez are waiting in the wings. Diaz is legimatimate champ in l35. He's a good tune up fight for Pac in his entry to the 135 division. Dela Hoya was a "best opportunity" fight for any fighter for fame and money. Who would pass up this opportunity? Pac fought him despite physical handicap. It was a fight no one believe he would win. Hatton was a legimate champ in l40. He dominated this weight division for 10 years. How can you begrudge Pac who has the heart to fight anyone beyond his limits. Those guys you mentioned in the welterweights are welterweights. Pac you should know is not a welterweight. Why should he fight them at a disadvantage? As Roach said Pac may be brave but he's not crazy.
