Over the last month I have noticed that Manny Pac has been lifted to mythical proportions since his great win over Oscar De La Hoya. Make no mistake I believe that Manny is a tremendous fighter and will go down as one of the best. His win over Oscar, faded or not, is one of the great accomplishments of the decade, but does that warrant him being the best of the decade over his predecessor Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Lets Debate with stats and facts.

    Manny Pacquiao 48-3-2 (36):

    Competed from 112-147 lbs. A 5 weight champion @ 112, 122, 126, 130, and 135. Linear champion in 3 classes @ 112, 126, and 130. He is the current P4P king (currently a 8 month reign).

    Notable Opponents:
    Barrera x2
    Morales x3
    JMM x2
    Velazquez
    Larios
    Solis
    De La Hoya

    Floyd Mayweather Jr. 39-0 (25):

Competed from 130-154 lbs. A 5 weight champion @ 130, 135, 140, 147, and 154. Linear champion in 3 classes @ 130, 135, and 147. The former P4P king, widely considered as Emeritus king, his reign lasted 3 years until his retirement. Manny Pacquiao inherited the title.

    Notable Opponents:
    G. Hernandez
    Chavez
    Corrales
    Castillo x2
    Gatti
    Judah
    Baldomir
    De La Hoya
    Hatton

Which of two great fighters do you consider to have the greater skill-set and boxing mind?

Factors to consider is who would win in a H2H matchup, whose resume is superior, and who stacks up better H2H against the all-time greats and great fighters in their respective weight classes???

With all those factors being considered I don't see how Pacquiao is *currently* considered to be the greater fighter. In my mind I feel he has a little more work to do, not considering that Floyd doesn't decide to fight again. Ricky Hatton is definately the next great step for Manny to solidify himself with the true legends of boxing (make the damn fight already:()

if pac retired now he would have the better resume. Better opposition, but if he fought mayweather, floyd has the edge. a better resume beats a unbeaten record

No. Not yet. But a win over Hatton and a decisive win over Marquez would put him over the line IMO. By the end of Pacquiao's career I expect him to be regarded as the greater fighter. Mayweather was more skilled, but I do not rate his resume very highly in ATG terms.

    Mayweather pisses all over Paccy,

This guy is awesome, and I can't stand his personality but you have to respect what a terrific boxer he is

I just can't see how Manny's resume is better... i just can't. I mean yes morales, MAB, and JMM are great fighters, but that's IT.

Mayweather is a better fighter IMO, but resume wise they are close, very close, i have mayweather slightly but only slightly ahead of pacquaio, if pac beats hatton i think he has surpassed mayweather on an all time list

add sasakul @112 - WBC flyweight - lineal champ and elite p4p fighter. also ledwaba @122, IBF superbantam champ and top 15 p4p fighter to pac's resume. ppl here always forget that pac was already a 2-weight and 1-time lineal champ even before his first fight w/ barrera @126 in 2003.

you can also add diaz @135 - WBC lightweight champ for pac.

I dont believe that.Beneath the charade lurks a nice guy?Nah dont buy it.
He didnt bother nurturing the bad guy act early in his career,it happened naturally.PFP 1 shouldnt need to contrive a black hat gimmick.

Yeah pretty much, that will mean that pac would have won titles or been the recognised best fighter at 6 different weights and beat the undisputed best fighter at his 6th weight, a fighter who is borerline top 10 p4p, a great achievment, and i am a massive mayweather fan as well, he's a greater fighter than pac but pac resume would be better IMO

Agreed. A win over Hatton and another close win over Marquez still wouldn't do it for me. Not even a win over Cotto. He has to unify at 135 or 140 to give second thought. Beating Margarito would leave no doubt.

Hatton is a step up fight for pac more than mayweathers fight with hatton.
