i don't bash floyd for fighting zab and baldo during that time. after his money tour against oscar and hatton (which i credit as good wins for floyd), he has a chance to establish himself as the 147 king if he just fought and beat cotto. as we all know he retired and margarito took the opportunity.

Exactly! When PBF talked about fighting Spinks instead of Baldo people said he was ducking Baldo. PBF can't win.:-(

 No one, but maybe a couple posters said that. I mean, are you go use what one or two people say to justify everything PimpC? Yuo0 seem to care WAAY to much what some message boarders say.

I primise, 99% of the people who know boxing would see Spinks as a greater win, which it would be. And you're worried about people saying he's ducking the weakest 147 champ ever? :patsch

Margarito was just beating Ring ranked fighter @ 147 when Baldomir was getting a free shot based on what looked like a sure win for Zab.

Do you really think just because Baldimir won the belts, he was a tougher matchup then Margarito? No one but Floyd fans will agree with you Pimp C.

Yeah and I remember some said that he should fight Baldomir if he's a serious WW, when he did then some ALSO said he's ducking Spinks.

Well ****, if a poster said that, then Floyd better choose who he fights based on that one poster. Don't want that one poster to think he's actually ducking a guy who was a HUGE underdog.

**** me. Of course that isn't the answer, because the question is not asking "who was better h2h at 130?", is it? Do you know what 'greatness' is? It takes far more into account than h2h at one weight division. If you think Mayweather is greater than fair enough, but posting this bull**** reason just makes you look stupid. By this childish logic, Winky Wright is a greater fighter than PBF because they have both fought at 154, and peak Winky would've eaten Floyd up at that weight. Doesn't work, does it?

This isn't even a valid discussion. Pac has certain vulnerabilities that make him exciting and makes for competitive fights. He was always a big puncher who was very fast, but he has always been vulnerable to a good boxer who fought didn't back down. PBF has no such vulnerabilities. His only liability is his small size. Pac has been in a lot of life-and-death fights, while Floy has made most of his competition look ordinary. I would say, Floyd is greater by far, and would have destroyed Pac at 130.

I think Floyd Mayweather is an amazing fighter, and I think as things stand he is a little ahead of Pac, but his fans have to accept a 39-fight career with the best wins being over Corrales, Castillo (who he also lost to, be honest), a past-prime De La Hoya, Hatton who was ill-equipped for ww, and Zab 'Big Fight Loser' Judah is NOT a level of greatness which cannot be beaten. I'm not saying his resume isn't good, it is a very good resume considering the times he fought in, but it is NOT insurmountable, no way.

All the ability and the slick skills in the world won't nail down a place in history that cannot be overhauled by a less talented boxer who takes on more tough challenges, wins more big fights, and achieves more in his career. No-one is going to scribble on his resume 'slick skills' for people to read when they rate and assess his career in 20 years time, all that will be left are the names and the facts.

Floyd fans must at least acknowledge the possibility that while PBF's career and resume stagnate as they are, Pacquiao COULD overtake him in terms of greatness IF he can win more and more big fights like Hatton and Marquez III.

pbf has better technical skills. as a fighter pac is greater. as far as resume i think having em, mab, jmm, sasakul, dlh, diaz and even ledwaba on your list of defeated opponents is very difficult to overcome.

they will probably be even at this point because of pbf superior rin savvy but history will be kinder to pac who will always be viewed as a courageous fighter. and if he wins versus hatton, i think that will seal the deal.

Anyone with brains would tell you that if he fought Spinks or Margarito back then he would have been the favorite like he was going in against Baldomir and DLH.
