Duran had that one gear and would fight everyone, and Ray was more original in someways. He would watch a fight and spot a weakness and exploit it somehow.

when I left a school I had worked at for many years, they didn't give me the usual framed oil painting of the school they usually give for ten years service. Thinking it would not be appreciated by a young guy like me, they opted to present me with a boxing glove signed by Duran. That was a special part of MY boxing history, and I tell that story as often as possible :)

I am not sure it hurt Duran too much. It is just what happens to most guys. Had that not happened people would have rated his chin the best ever, but losing to Hearns was not big insult. Hearns always landed his right hand on everyone.. And he landed it clean. The only guys whom he did not land it clean on is probably Ray in the first fight and Benitez. Pryor vs. Duran is a great fight. I don't know who would win.. I would lean toward Duran, and that shows I think he is a great fighter, but he didn't beat him so he cannot get the credit. Arguello? I don't know That right hand...

i also think he's a little overrated. a good street fighter with a great record

the problem with him and Monzon is they didnt have the competiton at their weights

all the lightweights had was Dejesus, and the best the middleweights had was Valdez and Briscoe. kind of thin

lucky to miss the arrival of Hagler
