What if he knew he couldn't hurt Pacquiao but could be stopped himself? Should he then have gone all out, to suit you and the other arm chair critics, by getting knocked out and lying face down for 5 minutes?

difference between margo and pac is that pacs elusive, margo is not, pac countered and use angles, margo was in front of clottey all night.

Yes- he should have took a lot more chances even it means he will get totally GKTFO - why?
Because this was probably his last chance to face a ATG in his prime and allow him to earn more money.

Basically - it was a once in a lifetime chance. He should have treated it as it is. It should have been his best performance (even in defeat). It turned out to be just a typical Clottey performance.

Not hating. Respect for getting in there.

Every time clottey threw an actual punch, he landed and snapped pac head back. He had the power to hurt pac. His whole game plan was to inactive to win this fight.

If you gonna stand in front of pac and not throw a punch, of course a dynamo like pac is gonna be throwing leather at a punching bag.

But i dont blame clottey he didn't have his trainer but his game plan was seriously messed up.

You know what this actually is? People can't see it from Clottey's perspective. They need to think about it from HIS view if they want to know why, rather than judge him from how we saw it unfold.

The guy was in there with an animal.

    Are you serious Relentless?

The guy should have WENT OUT OF HIS COMFORT ZONE in the biggest fight of his life...

honestly, this... 'he played it safe so its ok' is bull****....

Some fighters rise to the occasion, and try to MAKE THINGS HAPPEN, they dont just go with the flow and not open up because 'they will be hit hard'

give me a break man, he deserved a lot of the heat hes getting, maybe not all... but it was ridicoulas.

its easy to say that from behind a computer screen, when you're in the ring with a guy like pac its a whole different story.

i agree. i think from the time clottey realized how heavy pac's punches were, he would be happy just to end the fight on his feet.

Pac has fought a whole bunch of guys and beaten them up far worse than he beat up Clottey, and they still tried. Clottey should have stepped out of his comfort zone, but we knew he wouldn't, because he never does. That's why the outcome of this fight was a foregone conclusion, and why the fight was meaningless.

If you're so afraid of getting punched that you've guaranteed that you're going to lose fights against great fighters then yes, you are probably in the wrong business. At the very least you shouldn't even be in the ring with those great fighters.

uh... what exactly is your point?

I am not a world class fighter who knew what he was facing in entering this fight....

I am holding Clottey to a standard that one in his position should be held, not a fan, or even a journeymen. A pretty basic copout from people who cant accept criticism over a fighters performence.

If that was Gomez in there last night, it would have been a little bit more understandable, but even a guy like Gomez, when completely overmatched, does not hide himself because hes afraid to get hit, he tries putting it on the line to MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN.

No... some fighters learn from their mistakes, he knew the reason he had lost before, and some could assume that with his trainer saying pressure is the key and this being the biggest fight of his life, he wouldnt put in his worst performence
